So if you're not familiar 00:00:21.640 --> 00:00:26.720 with Dr. Peat, he's been on the show several times and we all love him. We love to learn 00:00:26.720 --> 00:00:34.160 from him. You can find out more by visiting raypeat.com. That's R-A-Y-P-E-A-T and I highly 00:00:34.160 --> 00:00:41.200 recommend checking out his articles, his blog, and also his newsletter. So you can get that 00:00:41.200 --> 00:00:48.960 by emailing raypeatsnewsletter@gmail.com. And so I'll have that in the show notes for you 00:00:48.960 --> 00:00:54.800 guys to check out if you haven't already done so. We're going to be talking about his newsletter 00:00:54.800 --> 00:01:00.000 that just came out last night. As soon as I got it in my email, I was like immediately 00:01:00.000 --> 00:01:04.640 reading through it. Best newsletter so far that I've read of Dr. Peat. So we're going 00:01:04.640 --> 00:01:10.720 to touch on that today because it blew my hair back. So I'm so excited Dr. Peat to have 00:01:10.720 --> 00:01:18.160 you on. Thank you for coming back on the show. Okay, very good. Thank you. So yeah, I've got 00:01:18.160 --> 00:01:24.400 quite a few listener questions as well. And I've got my own questions today based on the 00:01:24.400 --> 00:01:29.200 newsletter and just some things going on. So I'm excited to get started. As you guys know, 00:01:29.200 --> 00:01:34.560 I've been banned from YouTube. So this is only available on audio. So be sure to share this 00:01:34.560 --> 00:01:38.240 with someone you know, that's going to benefit from it. They're not going to find it on YouTube 00:01:38.240 --> 00:01:42.880 right now. They're only going to find it on podcast players. So be sure to share and if you 00:01:42.880 --> 00:01:49.120 guys have more questions for Dr. Peat, I can't post like I was on YouTube and ask for questions. 00:01:49.120 --> 00:01:54.320 So if you hear this podcast and your question wasn't answered, just email me at get fit with 00:01:54.320 --> 00:02:00.800 Jodell@gmail.com and I'll be sure to get it in the queue for the next podcast. So let's start right 00:02:00.800 --> 00:02:07.440 off because Dr. Peat, your newsletter was like I said, one of my favorites. I lost my mom to cancer 00:02:07.440 --> 00:02:14.640 at 17. And what I do today is because of what I didn't understand about her health and how to help 00:02:14.640 --> 00:02:21.680 her because I was so young and she did all the mainstream cancer killing therapies. And after 00:02:21.680 --> 00:02:27.440 watching her go through chemo, surgery, radiation, more chemo, then finally out of desperation, 00:02:27.440 --> 00:02:32.800 alternative treatments out of Mexico that didn't work when her because her body was too wrecked 00:02:32.800 --> 00:02:38.640 from the cancer killing therapies. I'm convinced that it was the therapies that killed her, 00:02:38.640 --> 00:02:47.520 not the cancer. And so when I read your latest newsletter, the carcinogen metabolism that it 00:02:47.520 --> 00:02:52.720 just it was just phenomenal. Like one thing that you said in the newsletter really jumped out at me. 00:02:52.720 --> 00:02:59.840 There are many substances that can inhibit the inflammatory degenerative processes acting at 00:02:59.840 --> 00:03:06.960 multiple levels. And these substances tend to be synergistic so that a great number of substances 00:03:06.960 --> 00:03:13.600 can be safely used at the same time. This kind of supportive therapy has nothing in common with the 00:03:13.600 --> 00:03:20.560 ruling paradigm of cancer treatment. It is reinforcing the organism state of health rather 00:03:20.560 --> 00:03:27.840 than attacking the disease of cancer. That's what I want to help people do is reinforce their state 00:03:27.840 --> 00:03:32.560 of health rather than attacking the disease of cancer. That's what I want people listening 00:03:32.560 --> 00:03:38.880 to this today to take home is that there's a lot of therapies out there that are traditional 00:03:38.880 --> 00:03:44.560 mainstream. But there's also a lot of adjunct therapies that are synergistic and at least 00:03:44.560 --> 00:03:50.880 could support our organism and our host immune system while they're undergoing these treatments. 00:03:50.880 --> 00:03:56.320 It's not to say that people can't undergo radiation and chemo and things like that. But 00:03:56.320 --> 00:04:02.240 I think I agreed with you that they're attacking the disease of cancer rather than reinforcing the 00:04:02.240 --> 00:04:11.440 organism state of health, which should be what's most important. So I just really like that. Yeah, 00:04:11.440 --> 00:04:21.760 go ahead. Their basic mistake, mainstream medicine now for about a hundred years has 00:04:21.760 --> 00:04:29.840 been committed to the idea that cancer by mutation is something alien to the human being. 00:04:30.960 --> 00:04:40.960 But the mutations are the attempt to survive and remain part of the human organism. They are 00:04:40.960 --> 00:04:51.680 our cells that are struggling. And if you focus on killing these cells that are already very 00:04:51.680 --> 00:05:03.280 weak and damaged, you forget that what kills them kills or injures the rest of the human cells. 00:05:03.280 --> 00:05:14.880 They are so similar. It's kind of like trying to, it's more possible to kill an invasive fungus, 00:05:14.880 --> 00:05:25.040 but still things that kill fungus or amoebas, for example, are always harmful to the human host. 00:05:25.040 --> 00:05:36.160 If you look at the very few people who have studied untreated cancer patients, 00:05:36.160 --> 00:05:42.880 starting as far as I know in the 1950s with the University of California Professor 00:05:42.880 --> 00:05:51.360 Hardin Jones, he looked at people who for some reason refused treatment after being diagnosed. 00:05:51.360 --> 00:05:58.560 And these people almost always lived longer than the thoroughly treated people, 00:05:58.560 --> 00:06:06.960 the people who rejected treatment. And since those aren't taken into account, 00:06:08.560 --> 00:06:15.360 everyone who is diagnosed with cancer essentially gets the killing treatment. 00:06:15.360 --> 00:06:26.960 And if you really did a control, you would compare the absence of treatment to a particular 00:06:26.960 --> 00:06:37.600 treatment. But I've read through many volumes of the Cancer Research Journal. And invariably, 00:06:37.600 --> 00:06:45.600 they fail to take into account the possibility that the treatment ever kills anyone. 00:06:45.600 --> 00:06:57.440 Hundreds and hundreds of articles absolutely insist that everyone who dies from cancer, 00:06:57.440 --> 00:07:05.440 they don't even consider the possibility that the treatments increase their death. 00:07:06.400 --> 00:07:11.440 Absolutely. Yeah, I mean, you're, like you mentioned, it's about reinforcing health, 00:07:11.440 --> 00:07:16.480 how can you reinforce the state of health and the organism, if you're attacking both the good 00:07:16.480 --> 00:07:21.440 and the bad cells with some sort of therapy, it just doesn't make sense. And there's a big debate 00:07:21.440 --> 00:07:27.360 about out there about taking supplements when undergoing cancer treatment. But my job as a 00:07:27.360 --> 00:07:33.120 nutritionist to support is to support that host immune system and reinforce the state of health. 00:07:33.120 --> 00:07:38.560 And so there's this debate that you can't take antioxidants during a radiation therapy or 00:07:38.560 --> 00:07:44.800 during a chemo treatment. And I can see both sides, I can see how, yeah, the supplement, 00:07:44.800 --> 00:07:51.120 depending on which one it is, could interfere with the oxidant support of the cell or the 00:07:51.120 --> 00:07:55.920 antioxidant capability that you're trying to kill off with the radiation or whatever. 00:07:55.920 --> 00:07:59.840 But at the same time, what about all the good, like you've got this one little area that's 00:07:59.840 --> 00:08:04.720 cancerous, but you've got the 90% of you that's really good. Shouldn't we support that? And 00:08:04.720 --> 00:08:09.360 shouldn't we come at it from a standpoint of helping rather than harming? 00:08:09.360 --> 00:08:21.520 Yeah. And the treatment industry has covered up the fact that there is no such thing as a local, 00:08:22.240 --> 00:08:34.400 purely local cancer treatment. For example, the focusing radiation beam, they say if we aim it at 00:08:34.400 --> 00:08:44.560 the cancer, the rest of your body isn't effective. But experiments show that, for example, they 00:08:44.560 --> 00:08:54.480 noticed that exposing mice to x-rays caused them to go into heat, preparing the mate. And 00:08:54.480 --> 00:09:05.360 the explanation was that they had excited their pituitary. So someone did the proper control 00:09:05.360 --> 00:09:10.800 and radiated their feet and found that that caused them to go into heat. 00:09:12.640 --> 00:09:19.840 And the same with any very serious damage to any part of the body. It spreads 00:09:19.840 --> 00:09:28.640 signals of the damage to all parts of the body. So that in Seattle, there was this idea of 00:09:28.640 --> 00:09:38.400 pregnant women who had a full set of dental x-rays, even though they shielded their abdomen, 00:09:39.120 --> 00:09:48.560 their babies were born under weight. And the stress damage signals affected every part of 00:09:48.560 --> 00:09:56.640 the body just from supposedly exposing the head and jaw to x-rays. 00:09:56.640 --> 00:10:03.200 Yeah, no, that makes that's, you know, you don't hear about this stuff. All you hear about is like 00:10:03.840 --> 00:10:09.520 the different doctors saying, "This is the only path and we only have this. This is our approach. 00:10:09.520 --> 00:10:14.560 It's like kill, kill, kill." And there's so many other avenues. Like I loved in your newsletter, 00:10:14.560 --> 00:10:21.680 where you were mentioning things like mTOR and things that could inhibit mTOR include caffeine 00:10:21.680 --> 00:10:29.200 and aspirin and lidocaine and vitamin D and flavonoids. Like, can you briefly fill us in 00:10:29.200 --> 00:10:36.400 layman's terms, like how does mTOR work within some sort of like inhibitory action with cancer 00:10:36.400 --> 00:10:47.120 and why these things are important? Yeah, mTOR is phosphorylating, activating enzyme. 00:10:47.120 --> 00:10:56.560 And this particular enzyme activates all of the growth processes. So for normal growth, 00:10:57.200 --> 00:11:10.560 it's always acting, but all of the growth promoting factors have to know when to stop. 00:11:10.560 --> 00:11:20.720 And if you have stress going on, circulating lactic acid, for example, from any kind of 00:11:20.720 --> 00:11:28.800 systemic stress, lactic acid is enough to keep the mTOR activating growth processes 00:11:28.800 --> 00:11:37.760 without the appropriate need for it. And so lactic acid is carcinogenic by 00:11:37.760 --> 00:11:46.400 not allowing the body to turn off growth when it should. And it turns out that stressed tissues 00:11:46.960 --> 00:11:55.440 produce lactic acid. So you get a vicious circle. Yeah. And there are like you, I appreciated that 00:11:55.440 --> 00:12:00.240 in your newsletter, you did mention, I mean, there are some of the flavonoids known as antioxidants, 00:12:00.240 --> 00:12:07.120 like absorbic acid and things like that, that they can become an issue, like reducing agents 00:12:07.120 --> 00:12:13.040 for stuff like radiation and stuff like that. So are there certain supplements that people 00:12:13.040 --> 00:12:17.120 can do if they've been diagnosed and they're undergoing these treatments, 00:12:17.120 --> 00:12:20.560 they choose to go that route. And are there different ones they shouldn't do? 00:12:20.560 --> 00:12:34.640 Yeah, in the right amount, the antioxidants will actually be beneficial. But when they get inside 00:12:34.640 --> 00:12:44.480 the cell, a typical antioxidant like ascorbic acid or some of the flavonoids like fisetin 00:12:44.480 --> 00:12:54.960 are no longer reducing agents, they no longer are known by donating electrons, 00:12:54.960 --> 00:13:03.840 but they become oxidizing agents and keep the cell from having an excess of electrons. 00:13:04.560 --> 00:13:12.720 And one of the most basic features of cancer is that they have an excess of electrons. 00:13:12.720 --> 00:13:24.560 The presence of lactic acid in the system, for example, means that your cells have an excess 00:13:25.760 --> 00:13:36.640 of electrons. If you simply shut off the oxygen supply, you'll shift over to lactic acid production 00:13:36.640 --> 00:13:44.960 because electrons become excessive and will turn pyruvic acid into lactic acid 00:13:46.960 --> 00:13:58.400 with all of the cell activating effects. And so some very, very well informed 00:13:58.400 --> 00:14:08.320 leading biological thinkers are still confused on the issue. They still think that 00:14:09.360 --> 00:14:17.680 more electrons will be good for cancer patients. But in fact, the failure to oxidize, meaning that 00:14:17.680 --> 00:14:26.480 your cells have too many electrons, that's the essence of cancer. And the increase of 00:14:26.480 --> 00:14:38.080 lactic acid is a universal feature of cancer. Okay. Yeah, and so it's best to get flavonoids 00:14:38.080 --> 00:14:43.520 from food. I love that you said that in your newsletter. Are there certain ones? Let's say 00:14:43.520 --> 00:14:49.360 someone listening to this has been diagnosed with cancer and they're undergoing, maybe they've 00:14:49.360 --> 00:14:57.040 chosen to go these therapies such as radiation or chemo. Where would you steer them? What 00:14:57.040 --> 00:15:01.840 protocol or suggestions would you give them to help them reinforce their state of health rather 00:15:01.840 --> 00:15:14.080 than just do the attack? The reason doctors advise against using some supplements like vitamin E 00:15:14.080 --> 00:15:25.680 is that they are wanting to create free radical oxidation, which always results from an 00:15:25.680 --> 00:15:33.600 excess of electrons activating catalytic iron, for example, to create free radicals. 00:15:33.600 --> 00:15:44.240 I knew someone who was taking protective substances and the doctor prescribed 00:15:45.680 --> 00:15:56.240 the standard course of chemotherapy and said it would be no more than, I think it was three doses 00:15:56.240 --> 00:16:04.960 of it. Absolutely three doses was all that would be needed. But after three doses, he said, "Well, 00:16:04.960 --> 00:16:11.760 we need another three doses." And after that three doses, he said, "Well, you need another three 00:16:11.760 --> 00:16:21.440 doses." And she said, "I finally got him to admit that he had previously said only three would be 00:16:21.440 --> 00:16:28.640 needed." And he explained that your hair hasn't fallen out and you're not anemic. 00:16:28.640 --> 00:16:38.400 And those were the judges, the basis for judging. You have to radically harm the whole organism 00:16:39.600 --> 00:16:48.960 before you're satisfied that the chemotherapy is working. She ended up looking for a thermal 00:16:48.960 --> 00:16:57.280 therapy hypothermia to treat the cancer, which there's a lot of research showing that getting 00:16:57.280 --> 00:17:07.280 the body temperature up to just a little above 41 degrees Celsius will kill cancer cells without 00:17:07.280 --> 00:17:15.520 harming healthy cells if you keep feeding the person so they don't get hypoglycemia damage. 00:17:15.520 --> 00:17:24.240 But she went to a place to advertise hypothermia, but the government required 00:17:24.240 --> 00:17:32.000 that they give a minimal dose, they said, of x-rays along with the hypothermia. 00:17:33.120 --> 00:17:42.880 And after a couple of doses of the treatment, I got her to inquire how they were judging 00:17:42.880 --> 00:17:49.040 that she had reached a hypothermic state. And they told her, "Oh, the computer does that. 00:17:49.040 --> 00:17:59.280 No thermometers involved, just absolute mystical computer knowledge." And then she asked, "How 00:17:59.280 --> 00:18:08.000 many rads was she getting?" And I think it was 800 rads to her whole pelvis, which included the 00:18:08.000 --> 00:18:17.600 intestine. And she was getting classical radiation sickness, which sets in around a whole body dose 00:18:17.600 --> 00:18:30.000 of about 400 or 500 rads. So she had had about three times the dose that causes radiation sickness. 00:18:30.000 --> 00:18:37.200 And very quickly after that died from radiation sickness, not from cancer. 00:18:37.200 --> 00:18:44.160 Yeah, it's like logic has gone by the wayside when it comes to our medical 00:18:44.720 --> 00:18:52.880 system. It's just a sad approach because I think there are protocols and suggestions that people 00:18:52.880 --> 00:18:59.200 can do to reinforce. So like in your newsletter, Progesterone, and you mentioned vitamin D, 00:18:59.200 --> 00:19:09.920 can you talk about that? Yeah, both of those systemically lower inflammation. So they're 00:19:09.920 --> 00:19:20.400 just as good for treating COVID as for cancer or psychiatric diseases or a cold. 00:19:20.400 --> 00:19:32.400 Because what they do is turn the body towards healthy energy production through oxygen. 00:19:33.120 --> 00:19:42.240 And by reducing the inflammation, they are letting the body restore itself. 00:19:42.240 --> 00:19:46.480 Wonderful. Now, go ahead. 00:19:46.480 --> 00:19:56.480 Antihistamines are another pretty safe way to do that. And in a previous newsletter, 00:19:57.280 --> 00:20:07.440 I reviewed some of the articles showing the benefits of exercise. And they found the good 00:20:07.440 --> 00:20:15.840 things about exercise that help you maintain good muscles, good hormone balance, all kinds of good 00:20:15.840 --> 00:20:24.160 health points. They found that only when the exercise was sufficient to raise your body 00:20:24.160 --> 00:20:33.840 temperature did it produce that anti-inflammatory restorative effect. And if they raise the body 00:20:33.840 --> 00:20:44.160 temperature to that point, the same temperature that adequate exercise produces, they got just as 00:20:44.160 --> 00:20:53.200 much anti-inflammatory effect. So it's the body temperature falling below normal. That is a basic 00:20:53.200 --> 00:21:05.920 activator of inflammation. And all of the major carcinogens by reducing oxygen metabolism lower 00:21:05.920 --> 00:21:13.200 the body temperature and so necessarily result in systemic inflammation. 00:21:13.200 --> 00:21:18.960 So important to keep that thyroid working and keep that body temperature 00:21:18.960 --> 00:21:24.480 where it should be in cancer prevention then that sounds like. So going back to the vitamin D, 00:21:24.480 --> 00:21:30.240 I kind of had something I wanted to really bring up because there's controversy out there. A lot 00:21:30.240 --> 00:21:35.280 of people are not on the bandwagon of vitamin D supplementation. They feel like you should just 00:21:35.280 --> 00:21:42.400 get it from the sun. But what about these as a nutritionist? I'm seeing people that as much as 00:21:42.400 --> 00:21:47.680 I would love them to go outside, they're going out covered up, they're wearing sunscreen, or maybe 00:21:47.680 --> 00:21:53.600 they're only going out long enough to walk around the block. So not to mention the fact that there's 00:21:53.600 --> 00:21:57.840 published data that now there's nanoparticles being sprayed in our atmosphere that are blocking 00:21:57.840 --> 00:22:03.920 the sun's rays. So that leads me to believe that we do need some form of vitamin D supplementation 00:22:03.920 --> 00:22:09.200 in certain people that just will not go outside. What are your thoughts on that? I mean, are you 00:22:09.200 --> 00:22:15.360 for vitamin D with K2 supplementation, or do you feel like it should just be from the sun? 00:22:17.920 --> 00:22:26.320 Ideally, it would be from the sun. But I've talked to people in Saudi Arabia and Latin America. 00:22:26.320 --> 00:22:40.400 There's a tremendous, like an epidemic or worse, of vitamin D deficiency in the traditionally Muslim 00:22:40.400 --> 00:22:49.360 and Catholic countries. Women in particular, well, the Saudi Arabians, even the men, were 00:22:49.360 --> 00:23:02.640 pretty much total body covers. But the women don't let any skin be exposed to the sunlight. 00:23:03.360 --> 00:23:13.360 And so they have a terrible vitamin D deficiency. The same in Mexico. Even the new generations 00:23:13.360 --> 00:23:25.680 that aren't following the prudish old cover-up practices, they have dark skin and don't want 00:23:25.680 --> 00:23:36.960 to get a darker skin. And so they, just for cosmetic purposes, like to be protected from the sun. 00:23:36.960 --> 00:23:52.720 And I used to sunburn terribly from, I guess, my 20s through my 60s. At 7,000 feet altitude, 00:23:53.600 --> 00:24:00.720 I could get an intense sunburn in about five minutes of sun exposure. But after I started 00:24:00.720 --> 00:24:12.480 supplementing vitamin D, the next time I was in Mexico at over 7,000 feet altitude, 00:24:12.480 --> 00:24:22.560 I found that I didn't sunburn at all. I could work outside for hours without turning bright red. 00:24:23.600 --> 00:24:32.400 And I've heard other people say that when they take vitamin D, they can then expose themselves 00:24:32.400 --> 00:24:45.120 to the sun without burning or even just a moderate degree of tanning. So if you are avoiding the 00:24:45.120 --> 00:24:54.880 sunlight for some reason, then you absolutely need to supplement vitamin D. It turns on all of the 00:24:54.880 --> 00:25:01.920 protective anti-inflammatory processes. I agree. I mean, I would love, like you said, ideally, 00:25:01.920 --> 00:25:07.280 I would love all of my clients to spend as much time outside as they can, but it's just, it seems 00:25:07.280 --> 00:25:12.480 like I can't get people to do that. So the next best thing is like I find a good quality vitamin D 00:25:12.480 --> 00:25:19.280 to get them on. And yeah, like you said, myself included, I don't burn. Also, I think that's due 00:25:19.280 --> 00:25:26.080 to low PUFAs. I have found that eliminating PUFAs a long time ago, I don't burn. And I think that 00:25:26.080 --> 00:25:31.520 has a lot to do with the body's inflammatory response with the sun too, would you say? 00:25:32.640 --> 00:25:42.240 Yeah, polyunsaturated fatty acids acts as an antenna. Ultraviolet light excites those molecules, 00:25:42.240 --> 00:25:53.360 causes them to have excitatory, excited electrons that then spread inflammation to other 00:25:54.240 --> 00:26:03.040 less sensitive substances. So they're like the antenna to spread ultraviolet damage. If you have 00:26:03.040 --> 00:26:12.400 a rabbit experiment years ago, they shaved rabbits and exposed them to ultraviolet, 00:26:12.400 --> 00:26:21.840 similar to sunlight. And the ones, the rabbits that had a PUFA free diet didn't get wrinkly skin. 00:26:22.560 --> 00:26:30.160 The ones on a high polyunsaturated fatty acid diet got very wrinkled after exposing 00:26:30.160 --> 00:26:39.760 their skin to sun to radiation, ultraviolet. Nice. Yeah, I know that. Yeah. Go ahead. What 00:26:39.760 --> 00:26:46.720 were you going to say? Just that there are several things that will sensitize you with 00:26:48.000 --> 00:26:56.640 bad diet, high in PUFA is one of the most age promoting factors. Absolutely. Yeah. 00:26:56.640 --> 00:27:02.880 So I wanted to ask one more thing before we jump into questions, because in your newsletter, 00:27:02.880 --> 00:27:07.760 there was something that stuck out to me that I kind of just briefly touched on, but I wanted 00:27:07.760 --> 00:27:15.360 to get your thoughts on it. So you had mentioned that although the great majority of cancers have 00:27:15.360 --> 00:27:22.160 clear environmental causes, the carcinogenic pollution caused by governments and large 00:27:22.160 --> 00:27:27.440 corporations has ignored. And so it's like putting the blame on the defective genes of the victim. 00:27:27.440 --> 00:27:34.720 So I wanted to talk about the pollution caused by governments. Now I had mentioned that I am 00:27:34.720 --> 00:27:42.000 seeing data on the fact that there is grid patterns in our sky. There's these clouds that make an X, 00:27:42.000 --> 00:27:46.400 there's lines in the sky that they're clearly spraying something into our atmosphere. There's 00:27:46.400 --> 00:27:51.120 published data on it. Do you think that this is something we need to be concerned about, 00:27:51.120 --> 00:27:56.960 that whatever the nanoparticles that they're spraying are dimming our sun's rays? And is this 00:27:56.960 --> 00:28:00.720 part of that heavy metal pollution we're exposed to, depending on what they're spraying? 00:28:03.040 --> 00:28:13.840 That has been planned research for a long time. Bill Gates was one of the promoters of it. And 00:28:13.840 --> 00:28:19.120 when the public heard about it, they said, "Oh, it's just research. We don't really plan to 00:28:19.120 --> 00:28:28.880 go ahead with that." But I don't believe them. I'm sure they're continually working on it. 00:28:30.800 --> 00:28:36.080 Yeah, I want people to be aware. I want you guys to start looking up and just doing your own 00:28:36.080 --> 00:28:41.360 research because I think they've got us programmed to look down at our phones so we don't see what's 00:28:41.360 --> 00:28:47.680 going on in our skies. But I highly recommend checking out geoengineeringwatch.org because 00:28:47.680 --> 00:28:52.880 there's a lot of published data there. And it's not conspiracy because there's research on it. 00:28:52.880 --> 00:28:59.520 So just be aware, there's changes in our sky that are affecting our health too. And I believe some 00:28:59.520 --> 00:29:05.840 of that heavy metal nanoparticles could be part of that carcinogenic pollution that you're talking 00:29:05.840 --> 00:29:15.120 about too. And one source of pollution that is often forgotten or covered up is that the Pentagon 00:29:15.120 --> 00:29:23.920 is the world's biggest single source of pollution. That they can dump anything they want to, 00:29:23.920 --> 00:29:36.160 and they've killed and injured many military people. The Gulf War Syndrome was just part of it, 00:29:36.160 --> 00:29:50.240 but burning toxic agents in open dumps when a war is going on, the soldiers are being horribly 00:29:50.240 --> 00:29:58.320 exposed to these toxins. Wow. Yeah, I'm glad you brought that up. I'm going to look into that too 00:29:58.320 --> 00:30:05.280 because I wasn't even aware of that. Well, I think we will jump into questions here because I could 00:30:05.280 --> 00:30:09.760 talk to you about this stuff all day, but I know everybody wants me to get to their questions. So 00:30:09.760 --> 00:30:18.400 Kylie is our first one on the list today. She's kind of explaining that she has low TSH, 00:30:18.400 --> 00:30:26.240 free T3 is low, free T4 is low. She's tried SITML and NDT, but immediately she lost her period. It 00:30:26.240 --> 00:30:33.120 took her five months to get her period back while on SITML, but she was still hyper symptomatic, 00:30:33.120 --> 00:30:38.160 so she stopped it. She's had thyroid issues her whole life, so she's wondering if it was 00:30:38.160 --> 00:30:44.240 her nervous system that needed to adjust. Should she have stayed on it or is there something else 00:30:44.240 --> 00:30:54.080 you should do, Dr. Peat? It's important to know that the function of T3 partly is to 00:30:54.080 --> 00:31:07.280 improve oxidation, that your liver needs to maintain the continuous activation of the thyroid 00:31:07.280 --> 00:31:17.200 and to make your liver able to detoxify hormones that are in excess. And so you can, if you have 00:31:17.200 --> 00:31:26.000 heavy menstruation or continuous hemorrhaging, you can turn it off quickly by increasing 00:31:27.120 --> 00:31:38.000 your T3 intake. But normally the body produces only probably a maximum of two or three micrograms 00:31:38.000 --> 00:31:48.960 per hour of T3 by its own conversion from thyroxine. And people often, the worst thing 00:31:48.960 --> 00:31:57.360 is to start out taking maybe your whole day's dose all at once on an empty stomach before breakfast. 00:31:57.360 --> 00:32:06.960 And that for sure will give you the message, boost your liver, that you have a gigantic excess 00:32:06.960 --> 00:32:16.240 of thyroid. And so you activate the liver to get rid of the excess thyroid. And that means that 00:32:16.880 --> 00:32:23.200 after doing that for a while, just a couple of weeks, there's enough to see it happening. 00:32:23.200 --> 00:32:34.320 Your liver, in just 12 hours after you've taken that one morning dose, your liver will create 00:32:34.320 --> 00:32:42.800 extreme hypothyroidism because it has learned to get rid of the excess. But then 00:32:44.080 --> 00:32:50.160 when you don't keep adding it, your liver pushes you to a very low level. 00:32:50.160 --> 00:33:00.160 That's one of the reasons a mixed product like a natural desiccated thyroid, a product like 00:33:00.160 --> 00:33:09.200 Armour Thyroid USP, for example, has a reasonable balance, the same balance that you would normally 00:33:09.200 --> 00:33:23.200 produce with your own thyroid. Or a synthetic such as Cenoplus or Novotrirol are about four or five 00:33:23.200 --> 00:33:34.880 parts of thyroxine to each part of T3. So the T3 can activate your processes. And the T4 is 00:33:34.880 --> 00:33:44.960 available to continue to keep up your T3 level without at any time forcing you into the 00:33:44.960 --> 00:33:53.280 hypothyroid state that you get when you take even 10 micrograms of cytomel at once. It will 00:33:53.280 --> 00:34:02.560 give you the signal of excess that will lead to reduced thyroid function. 00:34:04.480 --> 00:34:09.120 Yeah, and she didn't specify how much she was taking. So that's another thing. Maybe she 00:34:09.120 --> 00:34:15.360 started with too high of a dose. And then also, since the NDT is going to have some T3 in there 00:34:15.360 --> 00:34:20.080 along with the cytomel, maybe it was just too much for her. And she should just look at starting 00:34:20.080 --> 00:34:24.880 with a really low five micrograms of the cytomel or something. What do you think about that? 00:34:26.080 --> 00:34:34.000 Yeah, five micrograms with a meal is okay. It's more than you would want on an empty stomach, 00:34:34.000 --> 00:34:39.840 but the meal slows its absorption over a period of about two or three hours. 00:34:39.840 --> 00:34:48.720 And it's very important to check things like your temperature, pulse rate, 00:34:49.520 --> 00:34:57.680 blood pressure, and so on, and to not expect things to be normal immediately. 00:34:57.680 --> 00:35:06.160 Watch for changes to gradually increase over a period of two weeks or more. 00:35:06.160 --> 00:35:17.760 And many people want to see quick results, and that leads up to getting very disturbed 00:35:18.320 --> 00:35:27.360 ups and downs of the metabolic rate. It makes it very hard to find the right level. So traditionally, 00:35:27.360 --> 00:35:35.760 people who had really studied thyroid function, like Bruno Barnes, would take 00:35:35.760 --> 00:35:47.280 several months usually to determine what their correct dose was. And the correct dose varies 00:35:48.560 --> 00:35:54.880 typically fourfold just by seasonal changes in day length. 00:35:54.880 --> 00:36:04.320 I found that in the winter, I needed two grains of armored thyroid to maintain my 00:36:04.320 --> 00:36:14.560 temperature and heart rate. And that gradually, starting in the spring, decreased to half a grain 00:36:14.560 --> 00:36:19.680 per day to maintain the same level of function and metabolic rate. 00:36:19.680 --> 00:36:25.600 Nice. Yeah, that's it. I like that you mentioned the part about her taking it with a meal, 00:36:25.600 --> 00:36:29.680 because I think there is a misconception out there. My most thyroid medications are 00:36:29.680 --> 00:36:34.480 told to take on an empty stomach right when you wake up 20 to 30 minutes before eating. 00:36:34.480 --> 00:36:40.000 And I like that what you're saying is they really need to take it with food. I've always 00:36:40.000 --> 00:36:45.840 thought that that that would be more efficient, slowing down how quickly it's absorbed. And so 00:36:45.840 --> 00:36:54.800 that makes a lot more sense than on an empty stomach. I've heard practically all pharmacists 00:36:54.800 --> 00:37:00.880 and doctors give that, take it on an empty stomach in the morning recommendation. 00:37:00.880 --> 00:37:09.680 But I tried to find out what their reasoning was. There is no reasoning. And they based their 00:37:09.680 --> 00:37:20.320 thought on how do you get efficient absorption. They went to think about not wasting any of the 00:37:20.320 --> 00:37:33.200 thyroid. So you do get the full amount that you consumed if your stomach is empty. It shows up 00:37:33.200 --> 00:37:42.480 in your bloodstream right away. But the thyroid never works that way naturally. It seeps out as 00:37:42.480 --> 00:37:52.720 you need it. So if you have enough food to keep your blood sugar up and your stress hormones low, 00:37:52.720 --> 00:38:03.040 your body will continue to convert thyroxine to T3 exactly the right amount. But it is a 00:38:03.040 --> 00:38:13.520 continuous moment by moment process. Absolutely without any biological sense to recommend 00:38:13.520 --> 00:38:22.800 taking your day's dose on an empty stomach. Okay, so next question, Zed asked, okay, 00:38:22.800 --> 00:38:28.240 this is kind of a long question here. So Dr. Peat was asked in the past if he believes one can regrow 00:38:28.240 --> 00:38:34.560 hair back to their juvenile hairline. He replied that it may not be possible. I would love to know 00:38:34.560 --> 00:38:40.880 if someone was willing to dedicate all of their time to this. This is a cool guy. What further 00:38:40.880 --> 00:38:47.920 steps could be taken after addressing TSH, temperature, vitamin D, and calcium. For example, 00:38:47.920 --> 00:38:55.280 microneedling, scalp massage, or even, you know, hanging upside down, maybe a high dose of vitamin 00:38:55.280 --> 00:39:00.240 K to decalcify the scalp, anything that he thinks could help. Thank you so much. 00:39:00.240 --> 00:39:08.240 Scalp massage definitely helps hair loss from a variety of causes. 00:39:08.240 --> 00:39:18.240 Even alopecia ariata can be helped by massage. Even though that's an autoimmune 00:39:18.880 --> 00:39:28.800 spotty loss of hair, the massage helps to normalize getting the cell energy back up. 00:39:28.800 --> 00:39:38.080 But I've never known any single individual who wanted to put in the necessary time. 00:39:40.320 --> 00:39:51.520 Really could involve basically everything you do, but it isn't benefiting only your scalp because 00:39:51.520 --> 00:40:04.480 you've probably heard of the ear lobe crease. People who are bald have a very high incidence 00:40:04.480 --> 00:40:13.840 of a crease across their earlobe. That crease happens to be an indicator of susceptibility 00:40:13.840 --> 00:40:25.120 to heart disease. There's a known association between circulatory system health and good hair 00:40:25.120 --> 00:40:35.760 growth. So the things that help to restore the health of your follicles are also helping 00:40:35.760 --> 00:40:43.280 every other part of your body. I love that. I think it goes back to like grandma's logic of 00:40:43.280 --> 00:40:48.080 like brush your hair a hundred times because people, I think they're afraid when you're losing 00:40:48.080 --> 00:40:51.680 your hair, you're kind of afraid to brush your hair because you think you're just going to brush 00:40:51.680 --> 00:40:57.280 it and pull it out. But just brushing your hair like a scalp massage or there's a company that 00:40:57.280 --> 00:41:02.240 makes a derma tool for your head where you just kind of like stimulate the scalp, I think those 00:41:02.240 --> 00:41:06.080 are going to be more beneficial because what you're doing is you're drawing blood to that area, 00:41:06.080 --> 00:41:11.440 increasing circulation. So like brushing your hair, you might lose some hairs the first few 00:41:11.440 --> 00:41:15.440 times you do it, but then you're going to start stimulating that blood flow and hopefully 00:41:15.440 --> 00:41:22.080 improving the hairline as well. Yeah. Yeah. And putting your fingers on your scalp 00:41:22.080 --> 00:41:32.000 without moving them against the skin, but wiggling your fingers so that you're moving the skin around 00:41:32.000 --> 00:41:40.160 that kind of 15 minutes per day of that amount of massage can 00:41:42.480 --> 00:41:45.840 very significantly improve hair growth. 00:41:45.840 --> 00:41:53.760 Getting your temperature, getting your temperature up to normal, I think is a big part of it. 00:41:53.760 --> 00:42:06.240 I looked at the normal range of temperatures in the brain and it happens that the highest 00:42:06.240 --> 00:42:15.280 temperatures are towards the middle and rear of the brain and that for best functioning, the 00:42:15.280 --> 00:42:26.800 highest part of the brain, the spindle lobes of the cortex have to be slightly cooler 00:42:28.080 --> 00:42:38.480 than the central part of the brain. They have to be able to be quiet rather than overactive and 00:42:38.480 --> 00:42:52.000 the hair cover at the top and back of your head is helping to insulate your head so that you don't 00:42:52.000 --> 00:43:00.480 lose a temperature so easily where you have heavy hair growth. But the fact that hair doesn't grow 00:43:00.480 --> 00:43:08.400 on the forehead is probably associated with the fact that your frontal lobes should be cooler. 00:43:08.400 --> 00:43:17.120 And so your forehead is like a radiator that helps to maintain that gradient of 00:43:17.120 --> 00:43:23.680 temperature inside your brain optimizing your prefrontal cortex functions. 00:43:23.680 --> 00:43:32.400 Well, I really love that my brain is really warm right now because you make me think so much. So 00:43:32.400 --> 00:43:37.680 like just listening to you share that your knowledge like makes my brain like feel warmer. 00:43:37.680 --> 00:43:43.520 So that's cool. Okay, so Zed had one more question in his email. He said, 00:43:43.520 --> 00:43:50.000 "When my heart rate increases after exercise gets a little strenuous, the inside of my nose 00:43:50.000 --> 00:43:56.640 becomes very cold and painful to breathe through and almost closes up. Does Dr. Peat know what 00:43:56.640 --> 00:44:07.440 could cause this and how to avoid it?" Yeah, that's too much adrenaline. I used to notice it if I was 00:44:08.960 --> 00:44:16.800 in a study project, for example, and went too long drinking coffee. I would get that sensation but 00:44:16.800 --> 00:44:27.360 my nose membranes dried out and cooled and my sinuses extended that feeling of 00:44:28.080 --> 00:44:40.400 too much air in contact with them. I think it's that the high adrenaline simply reduces circulation 00:44:40.400 --> 00:44:48.080 to your nose and sinus membranes. Sounds like maybe his exercise 00:44:48.080 --> 00:44:52.960 may be not as strenuous, maybe just moving your body without getting too much adrenaline going, yeah. 00:44:54.960 --> 00:45:10.000 Not doing things that raise your heart rate too much but the kind of muscle exercise that 00:45:10.000 --> 00:45:16.800 heats up your muscles and then they heat your whole body and increase the temperature. 00:45:16.800 --> 00:45:26.560 So lifting weights or using dumbbells enough to warm up your muscles, raise your body temperature 00:45:26.560 --> 00:45:35.840 won't necessarily make you breathe any harder. Yeah, excellent. I love that. Okay, so I can't 00:45:35.840 --> 00:45:42.560 pronounce this name but this it starts with a K and it says, "What are Dr. Peat's thoughts 00:45:42.560 --> 00:45:49.360 on high-dose vitamin E? Is it safe to take up to 3,000 IUs per day?" Thank you. 00:45:49.360 --> 00:46:00.400 There have been tests and it was right around 3,000 or 4,000 units a day that would cause 00:46:00.400 --> 00:46:10.480 vitamin E to produce diarrhea. It was simply a physical overload that probably irritated the 00:46:10.480 --> 00:46:21.520 intestine and they found that you couldn't absorb above a certain limit that produced diarrhea 00:46:21.520 --> 00:46:32.400 was useless but they didn't see any damage from doses up to that point. But you have to remember 00:46:32.400 --> 00:46:41.120 that the products they call vitamin E has changed pretty continuously through technology 00:46:41.120 --> 00:46:50.800 in the 20s and 30s when it was known as a fertility of vitamin. That's where the name came from, 00:46:51.360 --> 00:47:03.920 Tocal Feral Offspring Burying. And so a deficiency was defined as the sterility level and that worked 00:47:03.920 --> 00:47:17.200 because vitamin E protects against estrogen. Estrogen is the anti progesterone, anti-fertility 00:47:18.320 --> 00:47:28.720 agent. And so progesterone and vitamin E were found in the late 1930s to be working together 00:47:28.720 --> 00:47:39.840 to protect against estrogen and so to improve fertility and the side effect of many other 00:47:39.840 --> 00:47:49.120 changes. But at that point, for various reasons, the estrogen industry didn't want vitamin E to be 00:47:49.120 --> 00:47:59.360 known as a pro-fertility anti-estrogen chemical so they promoted the idea that it's nothing but 00:47:59.360 --> 00:48:11.360 an antioxidant. And so for years, vitamin E was defined as its antioxidant potency 00:48:11.360 --> 00:48:23.280 which corresponded to the D-alpha tocopherol concentration. And the total vitamin E 00:48:24.160 --> 00:48:37.280 effect was considered only the antioxidant potency. And for a time, the vitamin E value was 00:48:37.280 --> 00:48:45.520 defined as the D-alpha tocopherol content. Now it has changed again and so they 00:48:46.720 --> 00:48:57.360 specified the proportion of all of the isomers of vitamin E. And the definition has changed 00:48:57.360 --> 00:49:06.480 along with it the way they prepare the vitamin. And so the way it's prepared is extremely different. 00:49:07.680 --> 00:49:17.680 For example, the octocosinol portion used to be an extra part of the function. And now that is 00:49:17.680 --> 00:49:27.040 removed, changing the consistency of the vitamin E and also apparently reducing its biological 00:49:27.040 --> 00:49:37.200 values. So that starting 20 or 30 years ago, there has been a campaign to warn people about 00:49:37.200 --> 00:49:44.880 the potential dangers of high intake of vitamin E. And since the benefits were 00:49:44.880 --> 00:49:52.960 established with different products and different definitions about 60 or 70 years ago, 00:49:52.960 --> 00:50:00.720 we don't really have any good research evaluating what's going on with present 00:50:00.720 --> 00:50:07.440 products of vitamin E. So I think it's best to be very cautious with your dosing. 00:50:07.440 --> 00:50:15.840 Very good. Okay, so doposeva, or dapposeva maybe is the name, asks about blackstrap 00:50:15.840 --> 00:50:21.520 molasses unsulphured. Is it a good source of carbs, potassium and minerals? Thanks a million. 00:50:24.560 --> 00:50:31.840 Years ago, I noticed that it had sort of a smoky taste, and so I investigated how it's made. 00:50:31.840 --> 00:50:42.480 And when you put your crude cane juice through the crystallization process, 00:50:42.480 --> 00:50:50.000 the brown stuff gradually, it doesn't crystallize. And so as you crystallize the 00:50:50.560 --> 00:51:01.760 pure sucrose molecules, you're separating a gummy brown substance. And it turns out that the 00:51:01.760 --> 00:51:12.880 standard way to make sugar is to burn the cane fields and then to cut down the bare stalks 00:51:13.520 --> 00:51:25.680 and grind that up to make your cane juice. And if you burn the cane before you extract the sugar, 00:51:25.680 --> 00:51:34.480 you're going to get a lot of smoky material mixed in with the various nutrients that produce the 00:51:34.480 --> 00:51:46.640 brown stuff. And so heat overexposure to heat will also cause the amino acids in the natural cane 00:51:46.640 --> 00:51:59.280 juice to react with the glucose in the juice. That produces toxic brown material. And so the 00:51:59.280 --> 00:52:09.200 brownness at least reflects the heat breakdown in products involving amino acids. And probably 00:52:09.200 --> 00:52:20.800 most often involves some smoke resulting from burning the cane. So the fact that a lot of people 00:52:21.760 --> 00:52:29.360 have an allergy-like reaction to BoxFib, I think, could steer people away from it. 00:52:29.360 --> 00:52:37.360 Okay, good to know. All right, these last couple of questions here we'll take and then we'll save 00:52:37.360 --> 00:52:43.920 the rest for next time since we're running short on time here. But these last questions are related. 00:52:43.920 --> 00:52:50.880 They're both asthma questions. So Constantine asks, "Hi, Dr. Peat, I'm a 23-year-old male, 00:52:50.880 --> 00:52:57.120 and I've had bad asthma since I was 2. My asthma is serious enough that I need to use some type 00:52:57.120 --> 00:53:03.520 of inhaler daily. When it's very bad, I use an inhaled corticosteroid. And when it's more 00:53:03.520 --> 00:53:10.400 manageable, I use a rescue inhaler that is androgenic agonist. I know these are both harmful 00:53:10.400 --> 00:53:15.840 drugs to use daily, so I would very much like to get off of them. I've been experimenting with 00:53:15.840 --> 00:53:22.720 superheptadine, pregnenolone, and progesterone as alternatives, but none have been able to 00:53:22.720 --> 00:53:28.080 prevent me from needing my asthma inhaler. Do you have any ideas on what I can do to get off the 00:53:28.080 --> 00:53:34.480 inhaler or alternatively on what I can do to mitigate the harm done by using the inhalers?" 00:53:37.280 --> 00:53:49.920 Checking your foods, a very careful elimination diet can usually identify foods that make the 00:53:49.920 --> 00:53:58.880 symptoms worse. By stimulating different parts of the intestine, researchers have found that 00:53:59.520 --> 00:54:08.560 you can produce all sorts of psychosomatic conditions. Everything from asthma to migraines 00:54:08.560 --> 00:54:18.000 to epilepsy can be provoked by irritating certain parts of the intestine. And so constipation, 00:54:20.000 --> 00:54:31.440 diarrhea of some types, and anything that tends to cause pressure or irritation in the lower 00:54:31.440 --> 00:54:42.400 intestine is a major cause of asthma. And so looking for foods that are hard to digest, 00:54:43.200 --> 00:54:53.760 you can often get a good diet by eliminating certain foods. For example, green salads, lettuce, 00:54:53.760 --> 00:55:02.960 or spinach leaves aren't cooked, are extremely irritating to the intestine, promote bacterial 00:55:02.960 --> 00:55:11.440 growth, endotoxin production, as well as just direct irritation from the nature of the leaf. 00:55:13.440 --> 00:55:22.400 Sometimes simply eliminating salads and undercooked vegetables will do it. 00:55:22.400 --> 00:55:31.600 The right kind of fiber will sometimes solve the whole problem by getting food to move through 00:55:31.600 --> 00:55:38.800 you faster before it can reach that degree of pressure and irritation. 00:55:40.480 --> 00:55:45.600 That's so interesting. Yeah, I would definitely second that. The gut is always a good place to 00:55:45.600 --> 00:55:54.480 go in dealing with anything that's causing a reaction in the body, as well as how about 00:55:54.480 --> 00:55:58.640 balancing blood sugar? Do you think that would matter if he's going the long stretch of time 00:55:58.640 --> 00:56:02.720 without eating? Would balancing his blood sugar, would that help the body calm down too? 00:56:04.320 --> 00:56:10.800 Exactly. Both the chemical irritants and the mechanical irritants are 00:56:10.800 --> 00:56:18.560 ineffective if you have high blood sugar or adequate blood sugar. But for example, 00:56:18.560 --> 00:56:27.760 if you have an inflatable balloon in the animal's intestine and the animal has good blood sugar, 00:56:28.400 --> 00:56:34.640 if you blow up the balloon, nothing happens. But if its blood sugar is a little on the low side, 00:56:34.640 --> 00:56:44.560 you blow up the balloon, you can produce instant asthma symptoms because the autonomic nervous 00:56:44.560 --> 00:56:54.000 system is destabilized by low sugar. Same with allergens. Low blood sugar makes you allergic 00:56:54.000 --> 00:57:01.680 to more things. Yeah, I would agree with that too. Ruth also asked a question on asthma. She said, 00:57:01.680 --> 00:57:07.360 "What are Dr. Peat's views on the use of those inhalers? Her sleep is interrupted by hot flashes 00:57:07.360 --> 00:57:12.480 throughout the night as well. What are your views on inhalers and why her sleep is interrupted by hot 00:57:12.480 --> 00:57:20.560 flashes?" What is interrupted by the hot flashes? Yeah, her sleep is interrupted by hot flashes 00:57:20.560 --> 00:57:29.440 throughout the night. Yeah, progesterone by maintaining your body temperature and oxygen 00:57:29.440 --> 00:57:38.080 used during the night will improve the depth and restfulness of your sleep. If your progesterone 00:57:38.080 --> 00:57:46.880 is low and usually if your thyroid is low, your blood sugar is unstable, falls too low 00:57:47.680 --> 00:57:55.200 during the night and will trigger all kinds of symptoms, hot flashes, night sweats, 00:57:55.200 --> 00:58:06.960 nocturnal asthma and nocturnal epilepsy are very well known consequences of the falling blood sugar 00:58:06.960 --> 00:58:13.760 during the night. Painful things become more painful at night because of falling blood sugar. 00:58:15.440 --> 00:58:20.960 Yeah, for sure. Yeah, definitely the progesterone can help with hot flashes just in general in the 00:58:20.960 --> 00:58:26.640 night. So there was something else that you said that made me want to, what were you going to say? 00:58:26.640 --> 00:58:35.840 Experimenters have used something like a cup full of cornstarch as a way to 00:58:35.840 --> 00:58:45.120 give pure carbohydrate at bedtime in five pounds. But even though that was not good in nutrition, 00:58:45.120 --> 00:58:51.600 it would prevent the hot flashes by giving you a constant supply of glucose during the night. 00:58:51.600 --> 00:59:00.400 That's so interesting. Like I've had myself included, people mentioned that corn in general, 00:59:00.400 --> 00:59:05.840 it seems like they sleep better when they have corn for dinner. Do you have any thoughts on this? 00:59:05.840 --> 00:59:11.600 Because I don't really love corn for the fact of it does. It seems to be a food that can elevate 00:59:11.600 --> 00:59:16.640 blood sugar sometimes too high in certain people. But you know, I'm hearing that it actually can 00:59:16.640 --> 00:59:26.240 help with sleep. Would you have any reason why? Yeah, it doesn't have, for example, gluten. 00:59:26.240 --> 00:59:35.600 If they're eating corn, they might stop eating so much wheat and gluten. And especially if the 00:59:35.600 --> 00:59:45.680 corn is in the form of tortillas or lime processed corn, that becomes very anti-inflammatory. 00:59:45.680 --> 00:59:56.720 Just having some oat bran, oatmeal or oat bran mush at bedtime, 00:59:57.920 --> 01:00:05.920 those are often very protective, keeping your blood sugar up. That's so interesting. Yeah, 01:00:05.920 --> 01:00:09.680 I don't have corn very often. But I find that if I have it for dinner, like you mentioned, 01:00:09.680 --> 01:00:13.840 like homemade corn tortillas or something, it's like my sleep is just phenomenal. So 01:00:13.840 --> 01:00:20.480 I find that interesting. Okay, that's all we have for today, because we'll wrap up here and we'll 01:00:20.480 --> 01:00:26.400 save the rest for next time. But Dr. Peat, this is always so enlightening and educational. And 01:00:26.400 --> 01:00:32.720 I love hearing your views on so many different topics. So we'll get to more questions next time. 01:00:32.720 --> 01:00:38.160 But you guys check out his newsletter. That's raypeatsnewsletter@gmail.com. And I bet they'll send that one to you that they just put out because it 01:00:47.280 --> 01:00:54.240 is really excellent. Dr. Peat, that carcinogenic metabolism was really a big eye opener. So thank 01:00:54.240 --> 01:01:01.680 you for that. And thank you for being a part of this today. Okay, thank you. Okay, bye for now. 01:01:01.680 --> 01:01:16.640 We'll talk soon.
