## Introducción

GitHub solía ser una plataforma abierta y libre para todos, pero ha decidido restringir la contribución de las cuentas Iraníes echándolas del ecosistema de código abierto.
A pesar de que entendemos que GitHub ha podido tomar esta decisión debido a la presión del gobierno estadounidense, esperábamos una acción más respetuosa por parte de GitHub.


1) GitHub ha restringido repentinamente nuestro acceso a los repositorios privados, pero por lo menos nos habría gustado que nos advirtiera antes de limitar nuestro acceso.


2) El equipo de GitHub ha decidido dar un paso más allá y nos ha restringido **basándose en nuestra nacionalidad**, sin importar dónde vivimos, mientras que simplemente podrían haber restringido nuestras direcciones IP como hicieron otras compañías con base en Estados Unidos.


Eventualmente, esperamos que el equipo de GitHub:

- Nos deje descargar nuestros repositorios privados y también hacerlos públicos.
- Cambie sus políticas de restricción para no limitar a los usuarios basándose en su nacionalidad. **Actualización**: Ya es posible hacer los repositorios privados, públicos, ~~aunque esta opción no está disponible todavía en los gists privados (conteniendo archivos de configuración de IDEs, etc...)~~. **Actualización**: Ya es posible hacer los gists privados, públicos.
- Anuncie su decisión públicamente y se disculpe por crear esta situación (como slack hizo en la misma situación  https://slackhq.com/an-apology-and-an-update).
