When you have TeamCity plugin installed, you can configure the list of projects to watch and to be notified about without leaving your IDE. The notification rules are configured on the TeamCity server, however you can easily access them using the plugin.

TeamCity also provides other notification types: e-mail, instant messages, RSS, or Windows System Tray. To learn about these notifications, please refer to TeamCity Online Documentation.
To set up ide notifications
  1. On the main menu, choose TeamCity | Options | Edit Notification Rules
    Alternatively, click img in the TeamCity Projects tool window.
    You will be redirected to the TeamCity Web UI.
  2. On the IDE Notifier page in TeamCity click Add new rule.
  3. Configure a new rule: specify what you want to watch and in which cases you want to receive notifications. For further details on the available options, please refer to TeamCity Online Documentation.
  4. Click Save.
To change notification rules for a watched build configuration
  1. On the IDE Notifier page, select the desired build configuration.
  2. Click Edit.
  3. In the Edit rule section, change the watched builds and notification rules as needed, and click Save.
To delete a notification rule
  1. Open the IDE Notifier page.
  2. For the desired notification rule, click Delete and confirm deletion.
