Information We Collect ### 2.1 Location Information - With your permission, SafeNest uses your device location to center map scans, resolve nearby registry records, and calculate distances on your device. - Location is requested only while the App is in use. We do not continuously track you in the background for advertising. - You can revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. - When you run a scan, the App sends a coordinate and a search radius to our data service so it can return public registry records for that area. We do not build a long-term location history profile about you. ### 2.2 Information You Create in the App The following stay on your device unless you delete them or uninstall the App: - Saved places and labels you choose - Area reports you generate - Family safety checklist progress - Daily scan usage counters used for subscription limits These items are stored locally and are not uploaded to our servers as a personal profile. ### 2.3 Device Identifier - Each data request may include the vendor identifier that iOS assigns to SafeNest (`identifierForVendor`). - It is used only for abuse prevention and rate limiting on our data service. - It cannot identify you by name, and it resets if you delete the App and reinstall later. ### 2.4 Usage and Diagnostics - We may receive basic technical information needed to operate the Service (for example crash or performance signals provided by Apple platforms). - Subscription status is checked so the App can unlock Standard or Premium features you purchased. ### 2.5 Notifications (Optional) - If you enable place alerts, SafeNest may use local notifications to remind you to re-check a saved place. - Notification permission is optional and can be turned off in iOS Settings. ## 3. Use of Information We use the information above to: - Provide area scans, safety scores, map exploration, and address reports - Persist your saved places, reports, and preferences on your device - Enforce daily scan limits for subscribed users - Process and restore subscription entitlements - Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and provide support ## 4. Information Sharing We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information only when: - You give explicit consent - Required to comply with law, regulation, or a valid legal process - Necessary to protect our rights, users, or the security of the Service - Needed by service providers that help us operate the App, under appropriate safeguards ### 4.1 Service Providers - **Apple**: processes payments and subscriptions through your Apple ID - **RevenueCat**: receives an anonymous App User identifier and subscription status so SafeNest can unlock paid features. We do not receive your full payment card details - **Map / geocoding providers** (Apple MapKit): used when you search or reverse-geocode an address - **Our data API**: receives coordinates and radius to return public registry records for the requested area Please review those providers’ own privacy policies for their practices. ## 5. Public Registry Data SafeNest displays information that United States state, territory, or tribal agencies publish for public awareness. That registry content is public by law. SafeNest does not create secret dossiers, and it is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. You must not use the App to make decisions about employment, housing, insurance, credit, or similar eligibility. ## 6. Data Security We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the Service, including: - Encrypted transport (HTTPS) for network requests - Minimizing what leaves your device - Limiting server-side use of identifiers to rate limiting and abuse prevention No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use the App responsibly. ## 7. Data Retention - Local App data remains on your device until you clear it in Settings or uninstall SafeNest - Scan requests sent to our data service are processed to return results and are not used to build an advertising profile - Subscription records are retained by Apple / RevenueCat according to their policies and legal requirements ## 8. Your Choices and Rights Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of personal information.
