id: CVE-2026-59148 info: name: "Mockoon - Unauthenticated Admin API Exposure" author: vedas-arpsyndicate severity: high description: | Mockoon prior to 9.7.0 mounts its admin API on the same Express listener as the user-defined mock routes, enabled by default in shipped runtimes, and enforces no authentication. Any unauthenticated caller that can reach the mock server port can access the /mockoon-admin endpoints to read and write MOCKOON_* process environment variables (/mockoon-admin/env-vars), rewrite mock route bodies, statuses and headers (PUT /mockoon-admin/environment), read transaction logs and SSE streams, and purge state. The admin API root (GET /mockoon-admin) returns a distinctive welcome banner without credentials, which confirms the admin API is reachable unauthenticated. Fixed in 9.7.0, which adds a bearer-token guard. reference: - https://www.exploit.observer/?keyword=CVE-2026-59148&match=exact - https://subdomain.center/?engine=ammonites&keyword=mockoon&match=exact classification: cvss-metrics: CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H cvss-score: 8.8 cve-id: CVE-2026-59148 cwe-id: CWE-306 metadata: verified: false max-request: 1 tags: cve,cve2026,mockoon,exposure,auth-bypass,unauth http: - method: GET path: - "{{BaseURL}}/mockoon-admin" matchers-condition: and matchers: - type: word part: body words: - "Welcome to Mockoon's admin API" - type: status status: - 200
