    Jetpack Fast Tech
  • Start: Earth-like
  • Want to be near body of water (jump out with F; start jet pack ; HOLD SPACE to FLY!; TAP on/off X to level out.
  • The focus here is to leverage the 100 m/s speed of a jetpack to fly around to discover.
  • Leverage the H2/O2 Generator + the fuel tank to maximize total travel distance.
  • NOTE: the 'fastest' search algorithm is a spiral pattern from a focal point
  • Thus, from a starting base move outward in 25m-growing circles

Minimum Viable Product - Drill Rover
  • This rover is designed to be the SIMPLEST, buildable forward/back drill rover
  • Main goal: be able to drill forward and back with a single drill
  • Crtical limitation: The medium cargo container(s) greatly limits ability to collect ores for processing
  • ]]>
Pro Tips These are general tips to consider when playing. ]]> Movement
  • Jet Pack [X]: IF Upside down, then tap it (1 off-1 on) until you right yourself
  • Middle Mouse Button: will add hovered item to the build list
  • When building: hold alt + mouse wheel to "zoom in and out"
  • Mario-toe, bridge building can be dones IF at least two blocks high....

    Machinery
  • Start: Earth-like
  • Want to be near body of water (jump out with F; start jet pack ; HOLD SPACE to FLY!; TAP on/off X to level out
  • Go to your drop
  • IF a hydrogen engine is NOT fueling, then turn rover/ship/etc. off then on
  • Thrusters' exhaust cone is as long as the jet housing, and will ONLY effect the block where the nossle is pointed
  • Hydrogen gas flows like energy, but can get stuck with routing (e.g., small grid, small cargos)
  • Hydrogen tanks can be marked for storage only, so a connector does NOT leach it's tank back to a base
  • Sorters should be TURNED OFF when hooking connectors together (EXPLOSIONS HAVE occured!)
  • ]]>
    Sorters
  • Attaching to a conveyor system, BEFORE a connector, with "Drain All" (applicable items + whitelist) will quickly empty a vehicle
  • Blacklist, with nothing, and drain all will steal EVERYTHING
  • Consider using them to constantly push/pull production items (e.g. refinery ores|igots); flow parts in, and constructed items out to a large cargo
  • ]]>
    Vehicles
  • NEVER use 1x1 for "real" vehicles
  • Add Gyroscopes to have some ability to right-out a vehicle (if it flips)
  • Consider "side spikes" (e.g., place two ramps back to back, beyond width of tires, to force rolling)
  • Add a projector that blueprints your current vehicle for quick fixes
  • Control+G will put you into build mode (e.g., you can place/build INSIDE a vehicle, a welder can then construct the object)
  • DON'T try to merge two grids connected by the same (advanced) rotors pieces, it GOES CRAZY
  • Place blocks/tools/items into a saved|named group -- when the part (e.g., hinge) dies it normally would remove it from the hotbar|shortcuts area, BUT if you restore the group it will renable to shortcut (so you DO NOT have to remap hinges or cameras)

Builds Rovers Ant-Tony Rhino Hippo Super Hippo Truffle Hog
  • a 6-wheel Rover
  • Leverages the "rotor bug" (i.e., attach a LARGE GRID Ore Detector to a Small Grid)
  • Add a connector to enable towing by Ant-Tony or Hippo Class Vehicles
  • ]]>
    Super Truffle Hog
  • An 8-wheel variant
  • Adds a survival kit
  • +a SECOND Large Cargo Container

  • This design can be built first up to the 6-wheel portion (i.e., with a projector), then be a simple mod to extend the default Truffle Hog design ]]>
