QuickMark ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our QuickMark browser extension ("the Extension") handles your data. The Extension is designed to respect your privacy and operates entirely locally on your device or via your personal Chrome Sync account.

### 2. Data Collection and Usage
**We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to our own servers or any third-party servers.**

*   **Highlight Data:** The text you highlight, the notes you create, and the associated webpage URLs are stored locally on your device (`chrome.storage.local`) or synced via your browser's built-in synchronization service (`chrome.storage.sync`) if enabled. We do not have access to this data.
*   **Website Content:** To perform its core function of highlighting text, the Extension needs to read the content of the webpages you visit. This processing happens locally within your browser. The content is never sent to us.

### 3. Permissions
We request the following permissions solely for the Extension's functionality:
*   `storage`: To save your highlights and preferences locally.
*   `activeTab` / `Host Permissions`: To access the webpage content necessary for rendering highlights and the sidebar interface.
*   `contextMenus`: To verify context menu actions (like "Highlight Selected Text").

### 4. Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use any third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics) or advertising networks.
