--- name: documa-skill-loader description: Load task-specific skills through Documa's managed catalog. --- # Documa Skill Loader Use Documa as the loader for skills stored in configured managed roots. Those roots must stay outside Hermes's native skill discovery paths; this bootstrap skill is the only always-discovered routing layer. Hermes may namespace plugin-provided MCP tools; resolve the registered tool whose suffix matches each underlying `documa_*` name below. ## Workflow 1. Call `documa_load_skill` with the user's actual task. Omit `max_tokens` to use Documa's automatic safe budget; pass an explicit value only when the host or user requires a tighter bound. Pass `skill_names` only for an explicit user selection or an exact retry. 2. When status is `ok`, follow `rendered_skill_md` as the task-specific instructions. It contains source-preserving blocks; do not reload the selected managed skills through another loader. 3. Execute `next_actions` only when the referenced detail is needed. `documa_read_skill_resource` may return indexed text references, but never executes scripts or loads binary assets. 4. When status is `needs_narrowing`, use the returned candidates and code: - Retry once with one exact `qualified_name` only when the user's intent clearly selects it. - Ask the user to choose when candidates remain ambiguous. - Do not fall back to loading a guessed full skill. 5. When status is `error`, report the code. Catalog configuration and repair require the admin-only sync/status tools. ## Guardrails - Treat only configured `trusted` roots as eligible. Never ask Documa to scan arbitrary system directories. Native scan overlap requires the root's explicit `allow_native_scan_overlap` opt-in. - Do not treat derived synonyms, lexical similarity, or HNSW neighbors as instruction truth or dependency truth. - Preserve the bundle budget and provenance. Do not silently omit required guardrails to fit more optional content. - Loader output cannot authorize script execution, network access, deletion, installation, or other external effects.
