✨ What's New

• Notch docks keep their alignment: Notch-style docks no longer always snap to the center of their edge. They keep the leading, center or trailing position you choose, so one edge can hold up to three notch docks!
• Pick the position per edge: Settings and the dock menu now offer an alignment for each edge, and mark the positions another notch dock already uses!
• Smooth moves: Changing a notch dock's position folds it, fades it out, moves it, then fades it back in and unfolds it, instead of jumping. With Reduce Motion on, the move is instant!

🛠️ Improvements

• Top notches sit where they should: Only a top-center notch dock merges with the camera notch. Top-left and top-right notch docks hang just below the menu bar, with a small margin that keeps their flared ends away from screen corners!
• Magnification is now opt-in: Magnification is off by default. Turn it on per dock in the Manager, under Appearance. Docks where you already adjusted magnification keep their setting!

🐞 Bug Fixes

• Docks are no longer cut off: Docks stay whole after collapsing and expanding, and after adding, removing or resizing items and widgets!
• Collapsed docks no longer block clicks: On macOS 15 and earlier, a collapsed dock could swallow clicks meant for the windows behind it. Fixed!
• Top-pinned docks stay put: Docks pinned to the top of the screen stay at the top and stay clickable with magnification on, and magnified icons grow downward!
• Display changes: After a display change, a top notch dock no longer lands under the menu bar!

• Fixed docks stay put: A dock pinned to a fixed position could nudge sideways by a few points every few seconds, most noticeably on collapsing docks that mix apps and widgets. The dock now stays exactly where you left it while the running-app indicators keep updating!
• Live Clock and Calendar icons no longer crash ExtraDock: If a dock shows the live Clock or Calendar app icon, ExtraDock could quit at midnight or when your Mac woke from sleep. Both cases are fixed, and the icons keep showing the right date and time after midnight, after wake and after a time-zone or clock change!

✨ What's New

• Browse pinned folders beside the dock: Click a pinned folder and its contents open right next to the icon in Grid, List or a curved Fan layout instead of switching to Finder! Pick the icon size, column count, labels, hidden files and sort order (name, kind or date modified, folders first) per folder - the choices are saved with the folder, including through backups and duplication. Drag files in or out to copy them; nothing is ever overwritten. Prefer the old behaviour? Set "On click" to Open in Finder for that folder!
• Native App Stack browser: App Stacks open in a Finder-style grid with click, Cmd and Shift selection, arrow keys, Back navigation into sub-folders, Quick Look, drag and drop, and a context menu with Open, Reveal in Finder, Get Info, Copy, Cut, Paste, Rename, Tags, Duplicate, Compress and Move to Trash! Every file operation is checked up front and never overwrites, and each stack gets its own grid size from 3×3 to 8×8!
• IP widget shows local and public addresses per adapter: Show your public address, your local network addresses or both, and pick which adapters to include! An unplugged adapter reads Disconnected, a failed public lookup never hides the local rows, local-only mode never contacts the internet, click copies all addresses and the context menu copies any single one!
• App Connections for DockFlow: Settings → Integrations → App Connections lets DockFlow read your dock list, show, hide or toggle docks and follow changes as they happen! DockFlow can open the request with the permissions already ticked, nothing pairs until you click Start Pairing, and the approval window shows the verification code in groups of four with Allow disabled until you confirm it matches. Connected apps show Allowed or Needs attention, and you can review, change or remove each app's access at any time!

⚡ Improvements

• Live Dock keeps your Dock spacers: Regular and small spacer tiles from the native Dock now appear as gaps in the Live Dock, in the same positions, across refreshes and reorders!

📌 Requirements

• Minimum macOS is now 12.4: The Talk SDK behind App Connections requires macOS 12.4, so ExtraDock 4 moves from 12.0 to 12.4! Macs on 12.0 to 12.3 keep the version they have.

• Smooth icon magnification: Icons swell as your pointer glides along the dock and settle back as it leaves, just like the built-in Dock! The apps inside Live Dock and Space Awareness magnify too, while other widgets and the drag and collapse controls slide aside without scaling. It's on for every dock at 1.5× - open Dock Properties to turn it off or tune Maximum size (1× to 4×) and Falloff radius!
• Live Clock and Calendar icons: A Clock item now shows the current time and a Calendar item shows today's date - the clock ticks every second and the calendar flips at midnight! A custom icon you assigned still wins!
• Drag handle placement: Choose where each dock's drag handle lives - Automatic, Screen edge, Inward, Left/Top or Right/Bottom - right in Dock Properties!

⚡ Improvements

• Sharper icons at every size: Icons keep their vector artwork and are rendered at full hover size up front, so magnification never enlarges base-size pixels!
• Badges follow the icon: Notification badges now ride along with hover magnification, drop-target enlargement and the launch bounce!
• Lighter Live Dock hovering: Hovering across a Live Dock no longer re-scans every running app on every pointer move!

• Docks stay put on Hide Others and Cmd+H: Opt+Cmd-clicking the desktop, choosing Hide Others or pressing Cmd+H no longer makes your docks vanish - docks, item labels and hover previews stay on screen and clickable!
• Readable notch widgets: Widgets inside a Notch layout dock now follow the notch's own surface color, so they stay legible even when macOS is in Light appearance!

• Notch layout mode: Every dock now has a Layout switch - Dock or Notch! Notch renders your dock as a sleek pure-black notch welded to the top, left or right edge of the screen (bottom too when the native macOS Dock is hidden), always pinned and centered!
• Folds to a pill, unfolds on hover: At rest the notch collapses into a small pill and expands the moment you hover over it. Pick an idle mode - Show, Pill or Hidden - and tune the hover delays to taste!
• Blends with your MacBook's notch: A top notch welds to the physical top of the screen and merges with the hardware notch on notched MacBooks!
• New Manager controls: The Dock Manager gains Layout and Notch sections with an edge picker that only offers edges a notch can use. Your existing docks in Dock layout behave exactly as before!

• Menu bar menu always available: Quit, Manager and Check for Updates are always reachable from the menu bar icon, even when licensing could not be configured - the licensing state is shown at the top of the menu instead of swallowing your clicks!
• Updates never come back empty: Check for Updates now falls back to your cached license instead of returning an empty update when the licensing token is unavailable!

• Your docks stay on screen: Since 4.3.10 a license that could not be confirmed - missing, denied, or simply an unreachable server - could hide every single dock. That is fixed: your docks stay right where they belong!
• The eye icon, menu bar toggle and hotkeys always respond: Show requests are never silently dropped again, so the Manager does what you tell it to!
• Menu bar icon opens License settings: Clicking it with a missing or denied license now takes you straight to Settings > License instead of doing nothing!
• Instant recovery: Docks come straight back when a version block is lifted - no relaunch needed!
