Everything Nostos keeps lives in one folder: the SQLite database, your books, local backups and the key ring that protects AI keys saved in Settings. Back up that folder. No account is needed. The self-hosted app has no login of its own, so keep it on your home network or behind a VPN, or add authentication at a reverse proxy before exposing it to the internet. Books already on your server: map a folder to /external/media (read-only), then open Settings, This server, External media. The container runs as nobody:users (99:100), so files in the appdata folder belong to the same user as other Unraid apps. Keep the appdata folder on a disk or cache pool, not on a network share: SQLite needs local file locking.
