# ClypDat Trademark Policy

## Scope

This policy covers the names **ClypDat** and **ClypLabs**, the ClypDat logo, and other ClypDat visual branding (the "Marks"). ClypLabs claims rights in the Marks. This policy does not grant a trademark license except where it says so.

## Open-source code

ClypDat source code is available under GPLv3. GPLv3 gives you rights to run, study, modify, and distribute the code. This policy does not restrict those rights.

You may accurately refer to ClypDat to identify the original project. For example: "based on ClypDat" or "a fork of ClypDat." Do not imply ClypLabs sponsors, endorses, certifies, or supports your version.

## Forks and modified versions

If you distribute a modified version, choose a name that clearly distinguishes it from ClypDat. Remove or replace ClypDat and ClypLabs names, logos, icons, installer identity, and other branding from the product, website, and marketing material, except for factual attribution to the original project.

Do not call a modified version "ClypDat," "ClypDat Official," or a confusingly similar name. Do not use ClypLabs or ClypDat branding in a way that suggests your version is an official release.

## Official releases

Only releases published by ClypLabs through its official release channels are official ClypDat releases. Official ClypDat installers and update manifests are signed with ClypLabs-controlled release-signing keys. A successful signature verification identifies a release as issued by the trusted signer; it does not grant trademark rights to others.

## Permission

Uses outside this policy require prior written permission from ClypLabs. This policy may change for future releases; it does not change GPLv3 rights already granted for the code.
