Desho Scanner ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our document scanning application available on Android devices.

Camera and Images
The app accesses your device's camera and photo gallery to:
- Capture document images for scanning
- Process and enhance scanned documents
- Perform OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on images
- Export documents as PDF, JPEG, or PNG files
Local Storage
Scanned documents and related data are stored locally on your device using:
- Internal app storage for processed images and PDFs
- Room database for document metadata (name, date, file path)
- SharedPreferences for app settings and preferences
Permissions Used
- Camera - Required to capture document images
- Storage - Required to save and access scanned documents (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE)
- Media Images - Required to select images from gallery on Android 13+ (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED)
How We Use Your Information
All data processing is performed locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or share your scanned documents, images, or personal data with any external servers.
- Documents are processed on-device using OpenCV and ML Kit Text Recognition
- OCR results are generated locally and stored only on your device
- No data is sent to third-party servers for processing
Third-Party Services and Libraries
The app integrates the following third-party libraries that may have their own privacy policies:
- Google ML Kit - For text recognition and document scanning. ML Kit processes images on-device. Google Privacy Policy
- OpenCV - For image processing and edge detection. OpenCV operates entirely offline on-device.
- iText PDF Library - For PDF generation. iText processes documents locally on your device.
- AndroidX Libraries - CameraX, Room, Navigation Compose, and Hilt are used for app functionality and operate locally.
- Google Mobile Vision / ML Kit Document Scanner - Optional document scanning enhancement. Processes images on-device.
Data Security
- All scanned documents are stored locally on your device
- No documents are uploaded to external servers
- You can delete all stored documents at any time through the app's "Delete All" feature
- Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data
Children's Privacy
This app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. The app is designed for general document scanning and does not target children specifically.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
- You can delete individual documents from the Files screen
- You can delete all documents using the "Delete All" button
- You can revoke storage permissions at any time through your device settings
- You can uninstall the app to remove all stored data
