## History of Bytes 
Bytes were **not** always a group of 8 bits, there were more possiblities of bits.

Historically, the first known byte was grouped in 6 bits instead of 8 bits.

Eventually, it grew to 7 bits, which made the range more efficient for 

more characters and symbols.

In the end, we additionally grew to 8 bits because it perfectly fits in the base 2 system (**zero and one digits**), 2³ = 8.
