Know all men by these presents that we Stephen F. Austin as
principle and Robert C Bruffey as Security are held and firmly
bound unto Daniel Dunklin Sheriff of Washington County in the
penal sum of three hundred Dollars lawful money of the United
States of America
The Condition of the above obligation is such that if the above
bound Stephen F. Austin shall be and appear before the Judge of
the Circuit Court at a Court to be held at the Court House in the
Town of Potosi in and for said county on the third Monday of
July next then and there to answer Robert Peter Guyard of a plea
of trespass on the case and to his damage five hundred Dollars.
And if Judgment be rendered against him at that or any subsequent
Term that he will pay the Debt damages and Costs or that the said
Robert C. Bruffey will do it for him, then and in that case this
Bond to be null and void otherwise to remain in full forced and
effect at law-

of Missouri do hereby certify— that Daniel Dunklin who signed
the above is deputy to John Jones Clerk of the Circuit Court of
the County of Washington in the said State— And I further
certify that by the laws of the late Territory of Missouri which are
now in force in the State no special bail is to be taken, but that
the bail Bond given to the Sheriff is to stand as such, on which in
case of Judgment agt the Defendant and non est returned to a case
issued against him a fiere facias is to be issued against the bail who
is responsible as such—
