D Sir This will be handed you by P. T. Dimmit our friend
and Agent please render him any services in your power in closeing
his business please have some Conversation with our friend B De
Bastrop who I find Intelligent good and much Service to this
Province what has occured as to the Tobacco taken by Beremendy I have
made affidavit as to the quantity which was delivered him after the
Tobacco was Delivered I agreed to present to this province $1800
of the $2000 to be appropriated as the Go. thought best to the Troops
and if he wants to pay $200 which he did and it is finally settled I
love the Baron and am sorry that Circumstances would not permit
my doing a better part by [him] than I have done. Your Brother
will say you what you may feel an interest in Knowing as the
Business and settler.
J. H. H. in his last letters says that nothing but your presence Can
give things the desireable standing.
