Pleasant Grove November 7th 1823—
Dear Sir after Due Respect to you Mr Garrett will give you this
who I Recommend to your acquaintance as a Good man he tells me
that Last faul Mr Buckner gave him a dog that he thought would die
unless some person would take some care of him Mr Garrett took the
dog and was the means of Saving his Life or he would have been
killed for the neighbours threatened to kill him. Now Capt I think
if you part with the clog at all Mr Garrett ought to have him as he is
a poor man and has his meat to git out of the woods this year
