Dear Sir
Atho we are personally unknown to each other, duty and the
interest I feel for you and your colliny makes it necessary that I
should gave you some information of a man that I am informed has
gone to your Neighborhood—he is by the name of John G. Jackson.
He is a large man, of genteel appearance about 25 years old, he came
from near Alexandria on Red River, to my neighborhood, about
two Months ago and brought with him two Horses and two Negros
one Horse he sold me, sd. horse I am told by undoubted athority he
sd. Jackson must have s[t]ole from Esqr. Stokes in the Town of
Rapede. Also one of the Negros is Stated to be a free man that Negro
he has sold to Nicolas Trammal near Nacogdoches, Mr J. C. Peyton
will hand you these lines who can give you more information on the
subject-
