Sir the Accounts of your Mexican Colony and Country wears a
promising aspect here so much so that I have serious thoughts of
goining you in settling it, and for that reason have taken leave to
apply to you for leave to Become a Citizen by complying with your
terms of settlement, if I am Encouraged I wish to Encourage three or
four families to emigrate with me
this application will Be handed you By Mr. George Huff who is
a first rate Blacksmith and an uncomon mechanical genius also a man
of sober steady habits and great industry and having a good general
knowledge of men and Business I think would be usefull to your
Young Colony
A great deal depends on the prospects he has in that Country
and full confidence will be given to the report given by him on his
return
if his accounts are flattering there will be Considerable moving
on as it is thought to be a healthy Climate and good soil for
Cultivation
