Natchitoches Oct. 24th 1824
Mr. S. F. Austin
Sir Altho I am unacquainted with you I take the liberty
of guarding you against a Man by the Name of John Cooke who
ran away from this place a few months since and left me as his
Security for a constableship, involved in the sum of two thousand
dollars—he is an Irish man about 5—10 high and has a lump on
his forehead stout built, and slightly pochd marked black hair-
he is a rascal undoubtedly and will impose himself on you.—
