Nachitoches 11th July 1825
Dear Sir
The bearer Doctor Le Hicks came here recommended to me by the
Parish Judge of the parish of Iberville as a physician of talents who
wished to establish himself in this parish, or on your side of the
Sabine. Judge Dutton says he has known him for two years past,
one of which he practiced in his family "with more than common
success, and that as a Citizen he gained the friendship and Esteem
of all who knew him " He states also that he was aboard the Steam
boat Tennessee when she sunk, and lost considerable property, and
concludes by observing that he thinks him deserving of the esteem
and assistance of all persons who consider merit and talents essential
to the forming a physician.—
This is all I Know of this Gentleman
My Respects to your family
