In dry weather the bed must be watered, put them out of the reach
of overflow—protect them in the winter—they are delicate when
young hot sun in the middle of the Day is hurtfull
Seeds of the Mexican Cipress (Seepress) a beautifull tree very
tall & slim in shape like a lombardy poplar and in foliage like a
cedar—to be sown in a bed like red pepper & transplanted the third
year. I wish S. M. W. to be very carefull and try to raise and
preserve these trees for me
