# Default DoView Board setup

1. **Board subject and name** — supplied by you.
2. **Scale** — a bounded detailed strategic model, normally about 60–100 ordinary This–Then boxes for a substantial subject.
3. **Sources** — public internet information where available, plus any files or URLs you supply; research limitations are recorded.
4. **This–Then links** — causal links are included in Step 1, with link Display Text, Notes and Traffic Lights left blank unless you explicitly request supported annotations.
5. **How Pages** — Level 1 projects or workstreams, Level 2 organisations or functions, and one no-level competencies page.
6. **How mapping** — added in Step 2; competencies map selectively to Level 1 projects or workstreams by default.
7. **Display features** — no box Display Text, priorities or traffic lights by default.
8. **Measurement and evaluation** — a small number of measures and evaluation questions.
9. **Documentation** — exactly three Documentation Pages under the standard setup.
10. **Board note and language** — “Proof of Concept – Not Endorsed,” using relevant local spelling and terminology.
11. **This–Then link polarity** — Default: positive links only. Optional: allow negative links where the source reduces, prevents, constrains, weakens or makes the target less likely.

**The board will be built in two steps:**

1. **Step 1 — Structure:** build the basic DoView Board, including links between boxes on the This–Then pages.
2. **Step 2 — How mapping:** add links between How Boxes and This–Then Boxes, and between related How Boxes.

To use all defaults, provide the subject, preferred title and any source files or URLs. To change a setting, identify its number and your preferred option.
