# DoView Boards V1.4.4 release notes **Version:** V1.4.4 **Release date:** 2026-08-25 **Saved schema:** V1.3.9 V1.4.4 is a focused corrective release. It restores genuine user override of setup defaults where the existing DoView engine supports the requested behavior. Blank link annotations remain the default, but strict generated builds now allow explicitly requested This–Then link Display Text, Notes 1–3 and link Traffic Lights, plus the unchanged engine's How-link Display Text and Notes 1–3. Evidence/source URLs must be supplied or legitimately researched and are never invented by the builder. The opening setup now includes an opt-in negative This–Then polarity choice. Positive-only remains the default. Negative polarity is used only where the source reduces, prevents, constrains, weakens or makes the target less likely; it is not a credibility rating or a repair for a backwards arrow. How-link Traffic Lights, polarity, Measures and Evaluation Questions remain unsupported. The fixed no-subject behavior is strengthened: a generic build request or build-page URL is not a board subject, and the complete eleven-choice opening menu must be returned verbatim. The V1.4.3 two-step workflow remains unchanged in structure: Step 1 builds the base board and Step 2 preserves it while adding How mapping. Annotation-only amendments remain within the current Step and do not create a Step 3. Delivery filename, two-link response and supporting-ZIP rules are retained with V1.4.4 version segments. Strict validation checks technical consistency, provenance, counts, graph and mapping integrity, JSON/HTML equality and Step 1-to-Step 2 structure preservation. It does not prove that every causal or mapping judgement is correct. Human and subject-matter review remains required before operational use. Executable engine/runtime behavior is unchanged apart from V1.4.4 version metadata. Saved-state/schema compatibility remains V1.3.9.
