# Contributor License Agreement (Copyright Assignment)

Thank you for your interest in contributing to this project.  
To protect the project and enable future relicensing, contributors must agree to this Contributor License Agreement (“CLA”).

By submitting a Contribution, you agree to the following terms.

## 1. Definitions

**“You”** means the individual or legal entity submitting a Contribution.  
**“Contribution”** means any original work of authorship, including source code, documentation, comments, tests, or other material that You submit to the project.  
**“Project”** means the software project to which the Contribution is submitted.  
**“Maintainer”** means the individual or legal entity that maintains and controls the Project.

## 2. Copyright Assignment

You hereby **assign, transfer, and convey to the Maintainer all right, title, and interest**, including all copyrights and copyright interests, in and to Your Contributions.

This assignment is **perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, and royalty-free**, and applies to all Contributions submitted by You now or in the future to the Project.

## 3. License Back to You

The Maintainer grants You a **non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license** to use, reproduce, modify, and distribute Your Contributions, either as part of the Project or independently.

This license ensures that You may continue to use Your Contributions for any purpose.

## 4. Right to Relicense

You acknowledge and agree that the Maintainer may:

- license or relicense the Project and/or Your Contributions
- under **any license terms**, including open-source or proprietary licenses
- with or without attribution
- with or without compensation to You

## 5. Original Work and Authority

You represent and warrant that:

- the Contribution is Your original work, or You have the legal right to submit it
- the Contribution does not knowingly infringe any third-party rights
- if You are submitting on behalf of an employer or other entity, You have the authority to assign the copyright as described in this Agreement

## 6. No Obligation

Nothing in this Agreement obligates the Maintainer to accept, include, or distribute any Contribution.

## 7. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Maintainer’s principal place of business, excluding conflict-of-law rules.

## 8. Acceptance

By submitting a Contribution to the Project, You acknowledge that You have read and agree to the terms of this Contributor License Agreement.
