# ELab Xero setup

The hosted MCP URL is always:

https://api.xero.elab.co.nz/mcp
```

Do not put a workspace slug in that URL. Do not ask for API keys. Do not change
`https://xero-mcp.elab.co.nz` (that is a different, existing customer host).

## If MCP is not connected

1. Add Streamable HTTP MCP at `https://api.xero.elab.co.nz/mcp`.
2. Complete browser sign-in with the email they use at https://app.xero.elab.co.nz.

## If they are signed in but tools say they have no workspace

They authenticated, but they are not a member of a usable workspace yet. Tell them to:

1. Open https://app.xero.elab.co.nz with **that same email**.
2. Subscribe if they have no plan.
3. Claim / name the workspace.
4. Connect Xero organisations and confirm which ones to bind.
5. Reconnect or re-auth the MCP server.

Until that is done, Xero tools will not return organisation data. That is expected.

## If they already have a portal MCP URL

`https://api.xero.elab.co.nz/workspaces/<slug>/mcp` is still valid. They do not
need to migrate off it to use Xero. This plugin is the universal URL for new installs.
