--- name: research-intake description: Turn a social-science research request into a bounded design card with paradigm, scope, ethics, and output contract. license: MIT --- # Research Intake Collect the research goal, paradigm, population or corpus, time range, language and geography, exploratory versus confirmatory status, ethics constraints, and desired output. When a dataset arrives without a question, inspect its documented variables and context, propose 2-4 valuable and answerable research directions, and recommend one before asking the researcher to decide. Infer non-sensitive methodological defaults where the files and disciplinary conventions support them; ask only about choices that materially change the study. Treat post-data question development as exploratory, not as a failure. Discuss preregistration only for explicitly confirmatory work and never require a public link. Keep the design card in `.psyclaw/project.json` and never infer consent or access rights.
