***INTERNAL TITLE:*** FAQ – BLINDED PROFICIENCY TEST KITS

### What will be contained in the blinded proficiency test kits?

150-200 blinded samples, each containing synthetic SARS-CoV-2 RNA and inactivated viral particles. The samples will be 200-400 μl each.

There will be several base fluids used. We will not reveal the base fluids. Some of them will be VTM/UTM, while others will not.

Kits will be designed for both RNA and Antigen detection tests.

### What biosafety level is required to process the samples?

The kits will be non-infectious BSL-1. They are all inactivated, contrived samples. No clinical samples will be included. However, please treat all samples as if they were clinical.

### When will the kits be sent?

The blinded proficiency kits will be shipped between **September 24 – October 2, 2020**.

### How will the kits be shipped?

The kits will be shipped frozen (on dry ice).

### Will I be notified when my kit ships?

Yes. We will notify you when a kit has been shipped to you. They will be scheduled to arrive during a business day.

### Will I received tracking information for the shipment?

Yes. We will send you tracking information as soon as the kit has been shipped.

### How much time do I have to validate the blinded proficiency test?

Upon receiving a kit, each team will have **one (1) week** to complete the blinded proficiency test and upload their results to POP.

### How do I upload the results to POP?

In the next few days, we will email you instructions for uploading your results to POP.

### Will I receive my results even if I don't make it to the next round of the competition?

Yes. All teams will receive performance results, even if they do not make it to the next round.
