# Play: Mission Control **A game for iPad.** Every part of this spaceship was made in the Hisar IdeaLab FabLab. In Mission Control you learn how, by playing six short missions. [Play the game](game/index.html){ .md-button .md-button--primary } !!! tip "Put it on the iPad home screen" Open the game in Safari, tap the **Share** button, then **Add to Home Screen**. It opens like an app, full screen. ## The six missions | # | Mission | You learn | Same idea in the real lesson | |---|---|---|---| | 1 | **Fab Match** | Which machine makes which part: laser, 3D printer, Roland GS-24, Roland BN-20, electronics bench | The "which part was made on which machine?" question at the start | | 2 | **Circuit Lab** | A circuit needs a cell, a switch, and LEDs the right way round. The long LED leg goes to + | Placing LEDs on the copper rails | | 3 | **Bug Hunter** | Observe, guess, check, fix, test again. Look at the pattern of dark lights to find the cause | The troubleshooting card | | 4 | **Tolerance Lab** | Why parts need a little gap, why every plywood is different, why we run a comb test | Press-fit "kid-fit" | | 5 | **Build Order** | Flat parts first, test electronics before building the body, wings last | The 8 assembly steps | | 6 | **Launch Pad** | Design a ship, see it glow in the dark, explore how LEDs change battery time | Dark-room finale and Mission 02 | ## For teachers - **Before the lesson:** Mission 1 (Fab Match) makes a good warm-up for the first question of the lesson. - **After the lesson:** missions 2–6 reinforce what students did by hand. Mission 3 pairs with the troubleshooting card. - **Not graded.** Stars are for fun. There are no accounts, no names and no tracking. - The numbers in the game (slot sizes, battery hours) are **game numbers**. The real values come from the lab's tests. - Tolerance Lab and Power Lab are deliberate previews of design thinking: *change a number, see what happens.* That is the bridge to Mission 02. ## Privacy The game runs entirely in the browser. It sends nothing anywhere. The only thing stored is how many stars you earned, on this iPad only. The ship name is never saved, and the game asks students not to use their real name. ## For the lab team The game is a single file: `docs/projects/welcome-space/game/index.html`. It has no external libraries, so it works offline once loaded. Edit it like any other file. Test it on a real iPad in portrait and landscape before every class.
