TabTracker is a productivity-focused Chrome extension that helps users track and manage their browsing activity. It monitors active tabs, measures time spent on websites, groups tabs into sessions, and provides analytics to help users improve focus and productivity.

Data Stored Locally

TabTracker stores the following data locally in your browser:

Browsing activity data (URLs, tab titles, and time spent)
Session data (grouped tabs and session timestamps)
User-defined time limits per site or category
Category mappings (e.g., coding, entertainment, social, learning)
Analytics data (daily and weekly summaries)
Extension settings and user preferences

This data is used only to provide the extension’s core functionality, including tracking, analytics, and time management.

Browser Data Access

TabTracker requests Chrome permissions for:

Tabs, to detect active tabs, track tab switches, and capture URLs and titles for time tracking
Storage, to save user data locally including sessions, analytics, and preferences
Alarms, to manage timers for tracking time and enforcing limits
Idle, to detect user inactivity and ensure accurate time tracking
Notifications, to alert users when time limits are reached or productivity thresholds are exceeded

All accessed data is processed locally within the extension. TabTracker does not transmit this data to external servers.

Optional External Services

TabTracker does not require or use any external APIs or third-party services.

All functionality is self-contained and runs entirely within the browser.

Data Sharing

TabTracker does not sell user data. TabTracker does not transfer user data to the developer or any third parties.

All data remains on the user’s device and is only used to enable the extension’s features.
