# Private Event Notes for Google Calendar: Privacy Policy _Last updated: 19 October 2026_ Private Event Notes is a browser extension, made by an independent hobby developer, that lets you keep private notes on your Google Calendar events. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google. ## What the extension stores - **Your notes**, plus the title, time and link of the event each note belongs to. These are stored in your browser's extension storage on your device. - **Your settings and templates**, stored the same way. - **Your Pro purchase status**: whether you've paid, plus the email address and plan you paid with, so Settings can show them. These are stored the same way. ## Where your notes go - **Nowhere, by default.** Notes are never sent to the developer or to any server, and they are never written into your Google Calendar events. Event guests and organisers cannot see them. - **Browser sync (optional, Pro).** If you turn on "Sync notes across browsers", your most recent notes are also saved in your browser's built-in sync storage (for Chrome, this is your Google account's Chrome Sync). The developer cannot access that data. - **Exports.** If you export your notes, a file is saved to your computer. What happens to it after that is up to you. ## What the extension reads On `calendar.google.com`, the extension reads: - the **event you open** (its identifier, title and time), to attach your note to it; the title and time are saved with your note so you can recognise it later; - the **identifiers of events shown on your calendar**, to put a dot on the ones that have notes and (Pro) to list today's recurring meetings in the side panel. These identifiers include the calendar's ID, which is often an email address. They are processed in your browser and kept only in temporary memory, which is cleared when the browser closes. They are never written to disk or sent anywhere. It doesn't read anything else on the page. ## Payments Pro upgrades are processed by [ExtensionPay](https://extensionpay.com) and [Stripe](https://stripe.com), under their own privacy policies. When you pay, they collect your email address and payment details. The developer can see your email address, the plan you chose and when you paid in their dashboards, and never sees your card details. The extension contacts ExtensionPay only to check whether your copy has been paid for. Your notes are never shared with them. ## Analytics and tracking None. The extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code. ## Deleting your data Use **Settings → Delete all notes**, or uninstall the extension, which removes its local storage. Turning sync off stops syncing. **Settings → Remove my notes from browser sync** deletes the synced copies. Copies already on your other devices stay there until you delete them on those devices. To remove your purchase record, contact ExtensionPay or the developer. ## Contact Questions: open an issue at https://github.com/JamieREvans/gcal-private-notes/issues
