10th Anniversary of the Final Release

JSR 354 Final 10th Anniversary

Today marks the tenth anniversary of the JSR 354 Final Release.
The same year, Java will be turning 30, 10 days from now.
Maintenance lead Werner and EG member Simon met two days later at JCON Europe 2025, which also celebrates its tenth anniversary and 30 years of Java,
to toast on the occasion with a cup of coffee.

Update 4 of JSR 354 RI 1.4 was released today.
It is dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
This release fixed a critical problem with the IMF Exchange Rate Provider. Please update if you want to use both ECB and IMF exchange rates!

Release 1.4.1

Valkyrie Update Release

Update Release 1 of JSR 354 RI 1.4 was released today.
On this date, the 76th anniversary of the attempted "Operation Valkyrie" coup by Claus von Stauffenberg and his co-conspirators we dedicate this release to their courage, sacrifice and memory.
The release fixed a problem with the JPMS (Jigsaw), ensures compatibility with Java 14 and added a few minor improvements, for a complete list see 1.4.1 Milestone. And check the release tag 1.4.1 in the GitHub repository.

Java 25th Birthday Week Release Train

Today Java turned 25. Oracle dedicated a Moved by Java anniversary page and kicked off the #MovedbyJava campaign on social media.
As JSR 354 Maintenance Leads we celebrated the 25th birthday of Java and the 5th anniversary of the Final Release ten days ago our own way by delivering a whole release train:

5th Anniversary of the Final Release

JSR 354 Final 5th Anniversary

Today marks the fifth anniversary of the JSR 354 Final Release.
The same year, Java will be turning 25 precisely 10 days from now.
After The Maintenance Release 1 of JSR 354 was code complete on Star Wars Day we expect to submit the MR1 to the JCP in the next couple of days.

MR 1 Code Complete

Maintenance Release Code Complete on Star Wars Day

Today the Maintenance Release 1 of JSR 354 was tagged code complete on Star Wars Day.
Check the issues resolved by MR1 on GitHub.
We still have to clarify a few things like the PGP keys to use for Sonatype/MavenCentral, but within a couple of days we should also have them on Sonatype Nexus after we deployed them on Bintray.

Maintenance Lead Transfer

Today the Maintenance Lead Transfer Ballot for JSR 354 was unanimously approved by the JCP EC. Check out the results.
We (the 3 Maintenance Leads approved by the ballot) plan to post a Maintenance Release 1 of JSR 354 (which will also be reviewed and voted on by the EC) before the end of the year. Once the JCP EC Elections are over and the new or returning EC members resume duty.
Check the issues targeted for MR1 on GitHub and please let us know, if you feel anything you face could be missing.

Partly because enough issues were fixed, partly because it's a nice date, especially for a release 1.3 ;-)

To support the EU directive PSD2 the Berlin Group initiative described and specified the process to implement PSD2 in an open and transparent manner.

Adorsys, a development consultancy specialized in the financial and insurance sector made an XS2A blueprint and Java reference implementation of the Berlin Group specification available on GitHub. We created a fork at JavaMoney and contributed some improvements back to the upstream repository by Adorsys via PRs.

Patch Release

API Release 1.0.1

A small patch of JSR 354 API was released yesterday.
The major fix was building the Java 7 (BP) API with Java 7 instead of Java 8. To ensure there are no class version compatibility problems running API-BP and Moneta-BP under Java 7. This patch release 1.0.1 of JSR 354 was be made available on popular Maven repositories.
There are no structural API changes nor JavaDoc, etc. therefore no MR was necessary for this and jcp.org won't be updated. Check the MavenCentral status badge in the JSR 354 API GitHub repository.
