# Card Combat Engine — Commercial License

Card Combat Engine is dual-licensed. By default it is distributed under the
**GNU Affero General Public License v3.0** (see `LICENSE`). This document offers
an **alternative commercial license** that exempts you from the AGPL obligations.
You need it only if the AGPL terms do not fit your use; if you comply with the
AGPL, you do not need this license.

## Why you might need it

The AGPL is copyleft, including over a network: if you use, modify, distribute,
or **run Card Combat Engine on a server** as part of your product, the AGPL
requires you to release the complete corresponding source of that product under
the AGPL as well.

This commercial license removes that requirement, letting you use Card Combat
Engine in **closed-source** projects — including server-side / network play —
without disclosing your own source.

## Grant

Upon purchase, this license grants one individual or legal entity a perpetual,
non-exclusive, worldwide right to use Card Combat Engine under the terms below,
**without** the obligations of the AGPL.

## What you CAN do

- Use Card Combat Engine in an unlimited number of personal or commercial
  projects, open or closed source.
- Run it on your own servers (network / server-authoritative play) without
  releasing your source.
- Include its source files inside your game project's repository (private or
  public) and modify them to suit your needs.
- Share it with collaborators working on the same project.
- Sell and distribute games built with it, without royalties.

## What you CANNOT do

- Redistribute Card Combat Engine as a standalone plugin (free or paid).
- Resell or sublicense Card Combat Engine itself.
- Publish a fork as a competing plugin.
- Remove or alter the copyright and license notices from any copy.

The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The author is
not liable for any damages arising from its use.
