The Assembling Machine is a steel/electrical age cost-saving machine.

This machine expends EU and time (non-trivial) to create machine component items at a lower material cost or with alternate materials.

With some forethought, the time impact can be mitigated by pre-crafting these items while accomplishing other tasks, such as building, exploring, or mining.
