VALTAN ("the App") is developed and published by HANATRA LIMITED ("we", "us", "our"). This privacy policy explains how the App handles your information.

Our Core Principle: Offline-First Privacy

VALTAN is designed as an offline-first application. All reading, AI chat, text-to-speech, annotations, bookmarks, and search features operate entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server.

Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is created and stored locally on your device only:

• Downloaded content - Articles and knowledge packages you choose to download
• Reading progress - Your position in articles
• Bookmarks and annotations - Notes and highlights you create
• App settings - Theme, language, reading speed, and accessibility preferences
• AI model data - The locally downloaded AI model used for on-device chat
• AI chat history - Conversations with the local AI assistant

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

Data Encryption

Content stored on your device is encrypted using AES-256-GCM. Encryption keys are stored in your device's secure hardware (Android Keystore).

Network Connections

The App connects to the internet only for:

• Content downloads - When you choose to download knowledge packages from our content delivery network (GitHub-hosted CDN)
• AI model download - When you choose to download the AI model for local inference
• ML Kit language packs - When you choose to download translation language packs (provided by Google ML Kit)
• Purchase verification - When making an in-app purchase, transaction data is processed by Google Play and RevenueCat (our billing provider) to verify your purchase

AI Processing

All AI inference (chat) is performed locally on your device using a downloaded language model. Your prompts, questions, and conversations are never sent to any server. No cloud AI services are used.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. These services may collect:

• Transaction identifiers
• Purchase timestamps
• Anonymous device/user identifiers for purchase verification

We do not have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, etc.). Please refer to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy for details on their data practices.

Third-Party Services

• Google Play Services - For app distribution and billing
• RevenueCat - For purchase management and verification
• Google ML Kit - For on-device translation (language pack downloads only; translation runs locally)

Analytics and Tracking

VALTAN does not include any analytics SDKs, crash reporting tools, advertising frameworks, or tracking software. We do not track your usage, reading habits, or behaviour within the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all App data at any time by:

• Uninstalling the App (removes all data), or
• Clearing the App's data via Android Settings > Apps > VALTAN > Storage > Clear Data

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
