# Levyra Legal Notice > [!IMPORTANT] > **Independent open-source software — lawful use only.** > > Levyra is an independent, community-driven open-source software project developed for legitimate personal use, software engineering, education, research, testing, development, interoperability, and experimentation. Levyra is not designed, intended, promoted, or provided for copyright infringement, unauthorized access, piracy, or the unlawful circumvention of technological protection measures. ## 1. Independent Project and No Affiliation Levyra is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, authorized by, or officially connected with Google, YouTube, Alphabet, Apple, Deezer, Spotify, TIDAL, or any other third-party platform, service, company, or rights holder referenced by the software. All names, trademarks, logos, service marks, media, metadata, and other third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners. References to third-party services are descriptive only and do not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, authorization, or approval. ## 2. Software, Not a Content Provider Levyra does not operate a centralized media-hosting or content-distribution service, does not publish a catalogue of copyrighted works on behalf of its maintainers, and claims no ownership of third-party content. Levyra runs as client-side software on the user's device. Any playback, retrieval, processing, conversion, export, or local storage initiated through Levyra is performed at the user's request and under the user's control. Distribution, availability, installation, or use of Levyra does **not** constitute authorization, permission, encouragement, or a licence to access, download, reproduce, convert, store, modify, redistribute, publicly perform, communicate, or otherwise use any third-party content. ## 3. Third-Party Services, Content, and Rights Access to third-party websites, services, APIs, endpoints, media, metadata, or other resources remains subject to all applicable laws, copyright and related rights, licences, contractual terms, platform policies, access conditions, technical restrictions, and permissions imposed by the relevant rights holders or service providers. Levyra does not grant, extend, replace, bypass, supersede, or override any right, restriction, licence, permission, access entitlement, technological measure, or contractual condition imposed by a third party. The presence of functionality capable of interacting with a third-party service does not represent a statement that every possible use of that functionality is permitted by that service, by a rights holder, or by applicable law. ## 4. User Responsibility and Lawful Use Users are solely responsible for determining whether their particular use of Levyra and any third-party material is lawful and authorized in their jurisdiction and under the applicable terms of the relevant service or rights holder. Before accessing, downloading, reproducing, converting, exporting, storing, sharing, or otherwise using third-party material, users must ensure that they possess all rights, permissions, licences, consents, exceptions, limitations, or other lawful bases required for that use. The authors, maintainers, contributors, and distributors of Levyra do not authorize the software to be used for infringement of copyright or related rights, unauthorized access to protected systems or services, violation of applicable contractual restrictions, or unlawful circumvention of technological protection measures. Users are responsible for how they configure and operate the software and for the consequences of their own actions performed through it. ## 5. No Representation of Legality Laws, licences, contractual terms, exceptions, limitations, and user rights vary by jurisdiction, service, content, and factual circumstances. Accordingly, Levyra and its authors, maintainers, contributors, and distributors make no representation, warranty, or guarantee that any particular use of Levyra, any particular feature, or any particular use of third-party content is lawful, authorized, permitted, or compliant with the terms of a third-party service. Nothing in the software or its documentation should be interpreted as legal advice or as an authorization to use third-party content or services in a particular way. ## 6. No Control Over Third-Party Services Levyra is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, legality, reliability, security, policies, behaviour, content, interfaces, or continued compatibility of any third-party service. Third-party providers may modify, restrict, suspend, block, discontinue, rate-limit, or otherwise change their services, interfaces, policies, or technical requirements at any time and without notice to Levyra. The project does not guarantee that any integration, endpoint, metadata source, stream, API, or other third-party resource will remain available or compatible. ## 7. No Warranty TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LEVYRA IS PROVIDED **"AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE"**, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OR CONDITIONS OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. This includes, without limitation, warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, compatibility, security, uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, or continued compatibility with third-party services. Use of Levyra is at the user's own discretion and risk, subject always to rights and liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded. ## 8. Limitation of Liability TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE AUTHORS, MAINTAINERS, CONTRIBUTORS, COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, AND DISTRIBUTORS OF LEVYRA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, CONSEQUENTIAL, ECONOMIC, OR SIMILAR LOSS OR DAMAGE ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THE INSTALLATION, CONFIGURATION, OPERATION, MODIFICATION, USE, MISUSE, INABILITY TO USE, OR DISTRIBUTION OF LEVYRA, OR FROM ACCESS TO OR INTERACTION WITH THIRD-PARTY SERVICES OR CONTENT. This includes, without limitation, loss or corruption of data, loss of profits or revenue, service interruption, device or software incompatibility, account restriction or suspension, loss of access to a third-party service, claims by third parties, or consequences resulting from the user's handling or use of third-party content. Nothing in this notice excludes or limits liability to the extent that such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. ## 9. No Transfer of Third-Party Rights Nothing in Levyra, its source code, documentation, distribution, name, functionality, or licence grants any ownership interest, copyright licence, trademark licence, media licence, API entitlement, account entitlement, access entitlement, or other right in any third-party service or material. Any rights a user may have in relation to third-party content or services arise independently from the relevant rights holder, licence, contract, applicable law, or other valid legal basis — not from Levyra. ## 10. Open-Source Licence Levyra is distributed under the **[GNU General Public License v3.0](LICENSE)**. The GPL governs the copying, modification, and redistribution of Levyra's source code. It does not grant rights to third-party trademarks, services, APIs, media, metadata, copyrighted works, or other third-party material accessed, referenced, retrieved, processed, or stored through the software. Where this notice and the GPL address different subject matter, the GPL continues to govern Levyra's licensed source code according to its terms. ## 11. Rights Holder Notice Levyra respects intellectual-property rights. A rights holder who believes that material distributed **as part of the Levyra project itself** infringes their rights may report the concern through the repository's official GitHub issue tracker. Good-faith notices may be reviewed and addressed as appropriate. This process concerns material distributed by the Levyra project itself. Levyra does not control or host content supplied independently by third-party services. ## 12. Mandatory Law and Severability Nothing in this notice is intended to exclude, restrict, waive, or override any liability, obligation, defence, exception, limitation, consumer protection, or other right that cannot legally be excluded, restricted, waived, or overridden under applicable law. If any provision of this notice is held invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision is intended to apply to the maximum extent permitted by law, and the remaining provisions are intended to remain in effect. --- **By using Levyra, users remain responsible for complying with applicable law and with the rights and terms governing the third-party services and content they choose to access.**
