L×Box is distributed under the **GNU General Public License, version 3** as published by the Free Software Foundation. See [LICENSE](LICENSE) for the full license text.

L×Box links against [`libbox`](https://github.com/SagerNet/sing-box) (part of the [sing-box](https://github.com/SagerNet/sing-box) project), which is itself licensed under **GPLv3-or-later**. Any compiled L×Box binary (the APK) is therefore a combined GPLv3 work and must remain under GPLv3 when redistributed.

## Commercial licensing — scope and limits

A commercial license from Leadaxe, when granted, covers **only the original L×Box code authored by Leadaxe** (the Kotlin / Dart sources in this repository, excluding `libbox` and other third-party components). It may be useful for scenarios that cannot be satisfied under GPLv3 *with respect to Leadaxe's own copyright*.

A commercial license from Leadaxe **does not and cannot** lift GPLv3 from `libbox` / sing-box: only the sing-box copyright holders can do that. Without a separate arrangement with the sing-box authors, the resulting product still has to be distributed under GPLv3 — even if Leadaxe's portion is offered under different terms. In practice this means a Leadaxe-only commercial license has limited use; in particular, it does **not** authorize embedding L×Box into a proprietary (closed-source) product.

Она может быть полезна для сценариев, которые невозможно удовлетворить под GPLv3 *в отношении авторских прав Leadaxe*.

Коммерческая лицензия от Leadaxe **не снимает и не может снять** GPLv3 с `libbox` / sing-box: это могут сделать только правообладатели sing-box. Без отдельного соглашения с авторами sing-box итоговый продукт всё равно должен распространяться под GPLv3 — даже если часть Leadaxe предоставлена на других условиях. Практически это значит, что коммерческая лицензия только от Leadaxe имеет ограниченное применение; в частности, она **не** даёт права встроить L×Box в проприетарный (закрытый) продукт.
