Gerbera gerbera/gerbera:3.2.1 https://hub.docker.com/r/gerbera/gerbera host sh false https://github.com/gerbera/gerbera/issues https://gerbera.io/ Gerbera is a lightweight UPnP/DLNA media server for streaming local media on your home network. Gerbera is a UPnP media server for serving audio, video, and images to DLNA/UPnP clients such as VLC. This template uses the official gerbera/gerbera Docker image, host networking for multicast discovery, a persistent config/database path at /var/run/gerbera, and a read-only media mount at /mnt/content. The official image automatically scans /mnt/content by default. Config and database: On first start Gerbera generates /var/run/gerbera/config.xml and an SQLite database in the same directory. Keep this path on persistent storage (mapped to appdata) so your settings, layout and scanned-content database survive container updates. You may also supply your own config.xml by placing it in this folder. Make sure the container user (UID/GID below) has write access to this path. Transcoding: The default image does NOT include transcoding tools. If you need on-the-fly transcoding (ffmpeg, vlc), switch the Repository to the transcoding variant by appending the -transcoding suffix to the tag, e.g. gerbera/gerbera:3.2.1-transcoding. A -debug variant is also available for troubleshooting. Customization: Custom JavaScript import scripts can be placed in /mnt/customization/js. A shell script at /mnt/customization/shell/gerbera_config.sh (if present) is executed every time Gerbera (re)creates config.xml. Do not expose Gerbera directly to the internet; it is intended for trusted LAN or VPN/Tailscale use.
