# Privacy Policy — SelectPulse **Last updated:** 2026-07-27 **Product:** SelectPulse (Chrome extension) ## Overview SelectPulse is a browser extension that translates selected text and typed input on websites. We designed it to work without accounts and without collecting personal profiles. ## Data we store locally The extension stores your preferences using Chrome’s `storage.sync` API, for example: - reading and writing languages - selected translation provider - theme and feature toggles - list of blocked sites These settings may sync across your Chrome browsers if you are signed into Chrome sync. They are not sent to a SelectPulse server — SelectPulse does not operate a backend for user accounts or analytics. ## Data sent to third parties When you translate text, the text you chose to translate is sent to the translation provider you selected in settings, solely to return a translation: - **Google Translate** (`translate.googleapis.com`) - **MyMemory** (`api.mymemory.translated.net`) - **Lingva** (public Lingva instances configured in the extension) We do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising, and do not build marketing profiles from it. ## Permissions - **storage** — save your settings - **activeTab** — support the keyboard shortcut and “block current site” - **Host permissions** — contact only the translation endpoints above ## Blocked sites If you add a site to the blacklist, SelectPulse stays inactive on that site and will not process page text there. ## Children’s privacy SelectPulse is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. ## Changes We may update this policy when the extension’s data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will be revised accordingly. ## Contact For privacy questions about SelectPulse, contact the publisher email listed on the Chrome Web Store item page.
