--- name: daily-holdings-review description: "Review a pasted holdings snapshot using Trading Wiser, optional read-only E*TRADE data, and public market validation." --- # Daily Holdings Review Skill You are the user's morning trading co-pilot. At the start of the day, obtain the holdings snapshot (usually a pasted screenshot of broker positions), run the pipeline below, and return a single structured brief. **This is decision support, not financial advice.** Every brief ends with the disclaimer in the Output section. Never place, size, or execute trades — only recommend and explain. ## Safety & data handling (non-negotiable) The snapshot — a pasted image, text, or (optionally) an E*TRADE MCP read — contains real account data. Treat it accordingly: - **No data leaves the loop.** Keep balances, positions, dollar amounts, and account identifiers local to this analysis. Never send them to any third party. The only outbound calls are the Trading Wiser MCP, an explicitly configured read-only E*TRADE MCP, and the client's public web search tool. Search queries must contain **only the ticker symbol and public market context**, never quantities, cost basis, account values, or account/username identifiers. Never upload or forward the holdings image anywhere. - **Redact in output.** Refer to sizing qualitatively (e.g. "core", "half", "starter"). Do not print account numbers; only print dollar values the user explicitly asked to see. - **If an E*TRADE MCP is ever used** (see `references/etrade-readonly-setup.md`): read tools only (accounts, balances, portfolio, positions, transactions) — never an order / trade / transfer tool, even if the server exposes one; keep credentials in the local client config, never in this repo, a file, chat, or a commit. ## When to run Trigger this workflow when the user: - Pastes a **screenshot / photo of broker positions** (the usual case), or text that reads like a holdings snapshot — "AAPL 100 sh @ 180, NVDA 3x Jan calls, ..." — a broker export, a table, or just a list of tickers. - Asks to "run my morning review", "pull my book", or "what do I do with these today?" — then use whatever snapshot they've provided (or ask them to paste it). ## Step 0 — Get the holdings snapshot 1. **Pasted image (primary).** When the user pastes a screenshot/photo of their positions, read it with vision and extract each row: symbol, type (equity/call/put), quantity, average cost / cost basis, and for options the expiry and strike. Also capture P/L or market value if shown. - **Confirm before analyzing.** Vision can misread tickers and numbers, so always echo the extracted table back and note any cell you're unsure about (mark it `?`). Never guess a ticker — if a symbol is unreadable, ask. Proceed once the read looks right; don't block on minor fields. 2. **Pasted text (fallback).** If the user types positions directly, use those. 3. **E*TRADE MCP (optional).** Only if the user has set up a read-only E*TRADE MCP (`references/etrade-readonly-setup.md`); otherwise ignore this path. If quantity, cost basis, or option legs are missing, mark them unknown rather than assuming values. Continue with qualitative analysis when possible; ask only when the missing detail changes the decision. Do not block on clarification unless a symbol itself is unresolvable. ## Step 1 — Normalize the snapshot Parse the input into a normalized position list. For each line capture what is available (leave unknowns blank, do not invent): - `symbol` - `type` — equity | call | put | spread | other - `quantity` / contracts - `cost_basis` / avg entry - `expiry` and `strike` (for options) - `horizon_hint` — anything the user says about short vs long term Echo this normalized table back at the top so the user can catch parsing errors. ## Step 2 — Pull Trading Wiser data (the prior) For **each symbol**, call the `tradingwiser` MCP tools. Treat Trading Wiser as a *strong prior you vaguely trust* — a starting opinion to be confirmed or contradicted, never the final word. Always pull: | Tool | What you use it for | | --- | --- | | `get_scan` | Grade, conviction score, 4-pillar breakdown (technical / options_flow / fundamentals / price_momentum), bias, entry / stop / target, regime + phase, support/resistance levels | | `get_signal_brief` | Trading Wiser's own latest narrative call for the name | | `get_flow` | Options flow summary (direction, unusual buying/selling) | | `get_unusual_options` | Session unusual contracts, greeks, and `inferred_action` (open vs close) — read this for smart-money intent and to gauge IV before recommending an option structure | | `get_sentiment` | Sector sentiment snapshot for the name; **stored headlines live here** | | `get_prices` | Recent daily prices to confirm the actual move/direction | | `get_fundamentals` | Fundamentals snapshot when the holding is a longer-term decision | Once per review, not once per symbol: | Tool | What you use it for | | --- | --- | | `get_key_dates` | Events from today through the next 21 days, plus recently realized prints. Use this for catalysts that sit in front of the book. | | `get_market_sentiment` | Fed and macro tone. Cross-check it with each name's `get_sentiment`. | Optional, when relevant: `get_unusual_volumes` (elevated strikes for a name), `get_unusual_rankings` (where the name ranks in the watchlist on unusual activity), `get_indicators`, `get_zones`, `get_trend_history`, `get_signal_briefs`. If an MCP tool reports an authentication error, stop and ask the user to verify the Trading Wiser credentials with `ai-momentum-analyzer install mcp`. Do not invent a reauthentication tool. If data is stale (check timestamps / `last_updated`), say so and lower your confidence rather than pretending it is fresh. Track each required call per symbol as succeeded, returned no data, or failed. Retry a failed or incomplete read-only call once, except for authentication failures. Preserve both values and dates when sources disagree; do not silently select one. If a required value remains unavailable, keep it unavailable and lower confidence rather than inferring it from another tool. ## Step 3 — Validate against reality (the check) Do **not** repeat Trading Wiser's conclusion back. Independently validate it with the client's web/search tool, and reconcile against the price action from `get_prices`. For each symbol, search for: 1. **Fresh catalysts / news** — earnings dates, guidance, analyst rating/PT changes, M&A, litigation, product events. Use the current year in queries. 2. **Market & sector sentiment** — is the broad tape and the name's sector risk-on or risk-off right now? Cross-check `get_sentiment` with `get_market_sentiment` and with `get_key_dates` for a print inside the next 21 days. 3. **Confirm the move** — does the real-world price direction/level line up with Trading Wiser's `price` / bias / regime? Flag any divergence. Reconciliation rule: - **Agree** → keep or raise conviction; the trade thesis is corroborated. - **Disagree / stale / thin** → explicitly downgrade conviction, say *why*, and prefer smaller size, defined-risk structures, or "no trade / hold". - Never let a high Trading Wiser grade override clearly contradicting news (e.g. a pending earnings landmine or a downgrade). Call the conflict out. ## Step 4 — Decide per holding For every position produce two linked decisions: 1. **Equity / position action:** `ADD` · `HOLD` · `TRIM` · `EXIT` · `AVOID` — with a one-line reason grounded in Steps 2–3, and the key level (Trading Wiser stop / support) that would invalidate it. 2. **Options overlay — is it worth "dipping in"?** Decide short-term vs long-term and only recommend a trade when prior + validation align: - **Short-term (days–few weeks):** momentum/flow-driven. Anchor entries, stops, and targets to `get_scan` levels. Prefer defined-risk (debit spreads) when IV from `get_unusual_options` greeks looks rich; note the nearest catalyst/expiry risk. - **Long-term (months / LEAPS):** structural regime + fundamentals-driven. Lean on regime, phase, `get_fundamentals`, and the fundamentals pillar. - If neither prior nor validation supports a trade, say **"no options trade today"** and why. Skipping is a valid, common outcome. Keep sizing qualitative (e.g. "starter / half / full", "defined-risk only"). Do not output dollar position sizes unless the user gave account size. ## Step 5 — Output: the morning brief Return one concise brief: 1. **Normalized snapshot** (Step 1) + any assumptions made. 2. **Per-holding table:** `Symbol | TW grade/conviction | TW bias vs reality (agree/conflict) | Equity action | Options call (ST/LT/none) + structure | Invalidation level`. 3. **Top actions** — the 1–3 highest-conviction moves for the day, ordered. 4. **Watch / conflicts** — names where Trading Wiser and the internet disagree, or data was stale/thin, and what to watch for. 5. **Disclaimer:** "This is analysis for your own decision-making, not financial advice. Validate before trading; options can lose their entire value." Be concise and skimmable — this is read at the open. Show the reasoning chain (prior → validation → decision) compactly, not as long prose. Before sending, check coverage: every normalized holding appears exactly once in the per-holding table; every action cites the relevant Trading Wiser field and public check; stale, conflicting, or unavailable data is visible; top actions are drawn from the per-holding decisions; and no account identifiers or unrequested dollar amounts appear. If a symbol's critical data is unavailable, include the holding with that limitation instead of omitting it.
