# My Portfolio

Welcome to my personal portfolio website! 
This site showcases who I am, what I do, and some of my favorite things — from books to coding projects.

## New: Theme switcher

There are two independent UI modes now:

- Right-side: Dark/Light selector — this switches color modes ("Midnight" and "Daylight") and is the small control on the top-right.
- Left-side: Alternate Mode toggle — a completely different layout, font and styling (a neon / vaporwave-inspired alternate layout) that lives on the top-left and changes structure, fonts, and visual accents.

Both controls persist your preferences with localStorage so they remain between visits.

## Desktop-style mode (Alternate Mode)

When you enable the left-side "Alternate Mode" toggle, the site transforms into a desktop-style experience:

- Your projects become app icons on a desktop grid.
	- Click an app icon to open a floating app window that shows a generic app interface (no personal details) — windows are intentionally privacy-safe.
- Windows are draggable and stackable — click the header to drag, and windows are focused when clicked.
- Minimize hides a window; close removes it.

- Minimize hides the window; reopen it by clicking its app icon. Maximize will fill the desktop area for a more immersive experience.

In addition, when Alternate Mode is enabled the page will:
- hide your personal sections and project details (privacy mode)
- show only: a realistic desktop background, your name in the top bar, and app icons
- keep the left-side Alternate Mode toggle available (top-left) so you can exit desktop mode
- the right-side Theme selector is hidden while in desktop privacy mode

The desktop background uses the included `Wallpaper.jpg` image to give a realistic desktop feel.

This gives you a fun desktop-like presentation for your portfolio projects while still keeping the standard vertical layout available when Alternate Mode is turned off.

Note: An "About" popup opens automatically when the site loads — it contains the same information from the `#about` section (including your profile picture) so visitors immediately see your bio in a single focused window.
