# Kileak: The DNA Imperative Recompiled An unofficial, noncommercial PSXRecomp compatibility project for **Kileak: The DNA Imperative** (USA, `SCUS-94102`). Public releases are deliberately **owned-input build kits**, not playable game downloads. They contain no disc data, extracted game executable, generated game code, retail PlayStation BIOS, memory card, save state, capture, or analysis database. You supply your own matching disc dump and generate the executable locally. OpenBIOS is included and used by default. ## Supported target - Windows 10 or 11, x86-64, Intel or AMD processor - Kileak: The DNA Imperative (USA), `SCUS-94102` - Redump-style CUE/BIN disc dump - OpenBIOS by default ## Using a release kit 1. Extract `KTDIR-setup--windows-x64.zip` to a writable directory outside `Program Files`. 2. Run `Kileak__The_DNA_Imperative_Recompiled.exe`. 3. Select your legally obtained Redump-style USA CUE file when prompted. 4. Choose Generate and Rebuild. The game code is generated and compiled only on your computer. 5. Start the locally built game from the launcher. The first build needs Python 3 and either a compatible CMake/Ninja toolchain or the toolchain downloaded by the setup wizard. Locally built executables are unsigned and may trigger a Windows SmartScreen warning. ## Optional enhancements The launcher's Mods page offers two disabled-by-default, data-free options: - **Widescreen 16:9** expands the 3D view while preserving 4:3 menus and FMV presentation and keeping the HUD/map aligned. - **Modern twin-stick controls** maps movement and strafe to the left stick, turning and vertical look to the right stick, and R2 to fire. Vertical-look inversion is configurable. ## Controls SDL3 gamepads are selected automatically for Player 1. The project supports common Xbox, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2-compatible devices. Version 0.1.1 adds an explicit mapping for the PowerA Advantage Wired Controller for Nintendo Switch 2 (`20D6:A720`). - Left stick: move forward/back and turn, or strafe with modern controls - Right stick: look with modern controls - D-pad: original digital movement - Circle or R2: fire with modern controls - Square: menu/map - WASD: keyboard movement - Left mouse or Left Ctrl: fire - E: use doors/consoles - Q: menu/map - Space: cancel/skip - Shift/Alt: keyboard strafe Controller bindings, deadzones, modern controls, and invert-look can be reviewed in the launcher before starting the game. ## Building from the repository This public repository is a flattened source tree; submodules are not needed. Build the emitters, generate from your own disc, and build the runtime: ```bash ./psxrecomp/tools/ci/build_emitters.sh python3 psxrecomp/psxrecomp_cli.py generate \ --config game.toml --project-root . --disc "path/to/Kileak (USA).cue" cmake -S . -B build-release -G Ninja -DCMAKE_BUILD_TYPE=RelWithDebInfo cmake --build build-release --target psx-runtime ``` Never commit `disc/`, `generated/`, retail BIOS files, memory cards, save states, captures, logs, or Ghidra projects. See [PUBLIC_RELEASE_POLICY.md](PUBLIC_RELEASE_POLICY.md), [PUBLIC_DISTRIBUTION.md](PUBLIC_DISTRIBUTION.md), and [COMPATIBILITY.md](COMPATIBILITY.md). ## Status Owned-input generation, a Windows x86-64 RelWithDebInfo build, OpenBIOS boot, launcher configuration, modern controller routing, the full first stage, and the transition into the second stage have been verified. This is not an end-to-end game-completion claim; see [COMPATIBILITY.md](COMPATIBILITY.md) for the exact qualified scope. ## Licensing and trademarks Framework and third-party components retain their respective licenses; see [THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md](THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md). The KTDIR-specific files do not currently assert a new license. Game names and trademarks identify compatibility only. This project is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Genki, or the original developers and publishers.
