In addition to helping support various missionaries and ministries from a distance, we believe it is important to expose our own people, personally, to missions. In July, 2005 FCC sent out its first short term mission team to Costa Rica. The experience was revolutionary for the participants, challenging their faith and helping them see God at work through other people's experiences. Another team went to Costa Rica in 2008, a smaller team to Haiti in 2010, and another larger team is scheduled to go to Costa Rica in 2011. Team members raise their own support and commit themselves to cooperating with the group and staying open to the possibility that God may call them into a deeper commitment to missions.
