# Privacy Policy for BitVoice **Effective date:** 20 July 2026 BitVoice ("the app", "we") is an on-device, offline voice-to-text (dictation) app for Android. This policy explains what data the app does and does not handle. In short: **BitVoice does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data of any kind.** ## No data collection - BitVoice performs **all speech recognition on your device.** Your audio and the resulting text never leave your phone and are never sent to us or to any third party or server. - We do **not** use analytics, advertising, tracking, crash-reporting SDKs, or any third-party service that collects data. - We have **no servers** that receive your data. In fact, the app holds **no internet permission at all** — Android will not let it open a network connection, so it cannot transmit anything even in principle. - Speech models are **not downloaded by the app.** When you pick a model, the app hands the address to your own browser; the browser downloads the file and you import it from local storage. The download is between you and whoever hosts the model (e.g. the sherpa-onnx model releases), exactly as if you had typed the address yourself. We are not involved and receive no information about what you download or use. ## The only exception: information you send us yourself If you choose to use the in-app **"Send feedback"** or **"Report an issue"** option, the app opens **your own email app** with a pre-filled message addressed to us. Nothing is sent unless **you** press send. That email contains only what you write, plus an optional diagnostic log you can review and remove before sending. The diagnostic log contains app events and error details for troubleshooting — **it never contains your transcription text or audio.** Any information in an email you send us is used solely to respond to your feedback or fix the issue. ## Data stored on your device The following stay **on your device only** and are never transmitted: - Your transcription history and, if you enable "save audio", the recorded audio. - App settings and preferences. - Speech models you download. You can delete your history (individually or all at once) and uninstall models at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app removes everything. ## Permissions and why they are used - **Microphone** — to capture speech for on-device transcription. Audio is processed locally and is not transmitted. - **Display over other apps (overlay)** — to show the optional floating record bubble so you can dictate over other apps. - **Notifications** — to show the ongoing notification required while the recording foreground service is active. - **Accessibility service (optional)** — only if you enable "auto-paste", to insert dictated text into the field you are typing in. It is used solely to place your dictated text and for no other purpose; it does not read, collect, or transmit the contents of other apps. ## Children's privacy BitVoice does not collect data from anyone, including children. ## Changes to this policy If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this page with a new effective date. ## Contact Questions about this policy: **paradoxstudios91@gmail.com**
