The collaboration between India's very own Hindustan Motors and the multinational automobile giant, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation was established way back in year, 1998. Mitsubishi Motors is one of the leading and very innovative transnational car makers in the global car markets. While Hindustan Motors was founded in the pre-independance era by the erstwhile Birla family. The company back then in the year 1942, had a small manufacturing facility and an assembly plant located close to the Port Okha area, which is based in the western city of Gujarat. This factory was further relocated to the Uttarparad area, which is located in the state of West Bengal in year, 1948. It was in this manufacturing facility that this car maker started the production of their iconic Ambassador car. The partnership between Hindustan Motors and Mitsubishi Motor Corporation has developed quite a few brilliant vehicles for the Indian populace. Their range includes the Mitsubishi Lancer sedan series, which is one of the most acclaimed sedans in the Indian market. They also have a couple of SUVs, Mitsubishi Pajero and Mitsubishi Outlander, which are doing incredible sales in the country, apart from the Mitsubishi Montero as well. |
