# Terms of Service for Shiroko

**Last updated: 2026-09-08**

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Shiroko Discord bot
(the "Service"). By using Shiroko in any Discord server or direct message,
you agree to these Terms.

## 1. The Service

Shiroko is a Discord entertainment and utility bot. Its features may be
added, changed, or removed at any time.

Shiroko is a hobby project run by an independent operator. It is not
affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Discord Inc.

## 2. Eligibility

- You must comply with Discord's own Terms of Service and be old enough to
use Discord (13 years or older in most regions, or older where local law
  requires).
- Server administrators add Shiroko to their servers voluntarily and are
responsible for deciding whether its features are appropriate for their
  community.

## 3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

- Exploit bugs or unintended behavior for an advantage. If you find a bug,
report it to the operator instead of abusing it.
- Use automation or other means to interact with Shiroko in violation of
  Discord's Terms of Service.
- Use Shiroko to harass, spam, or abuse other users.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service
  or its hosting infrastructure.

The operator may restrict or block users who violate these rules, and server
administrators may remove the bot from their server at any time.

## 4. Virtual items have no real-world value

Any virtual items, balances, or statistics associated with the Service are
for entertainment only. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for
real money, goods, or services, and may be adjusted, reset, or removed at
any time without compensation.

## 5. Availability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of
any kind. The operator does not guarantee uptime, data preservation, or that
any particular feature will keep working.

## 6. Data

Shiroko stores the data it needs to function, as described in the
[Privacy Policy](./privacy-policy.md). By using the Service, you acknowledge
that collection and use. Removing the bot from a server stops future
collection there; deletion of already-stored data can be requested as
described in the Privacy Policy.

## 7. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may change as the bot evolves. Material changes will be
reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service
after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
