--- name: content-voice-audit description: Give a fast, honest, sourced read on an organization's existing public voice (website, social, recent email or newsletter) — what's working, where it's inconsistent, and the single biggest fix — as a two-minute conversation opener before a client pitch or interview. Trigger this when the user gives an organization's website or content links and wants a quick voice/tone read, not a full audit. For a comprehensive multi-section report, use a full marketing audit skill instead. --- # Content Voice Audit A lighter-weight companion to a full marketing audit, built for a quick, sourced read the user can bring into a first conversation. It looks at an organization's live public copy and names what's working, what's inconsistent, and where the voice doesn't match the audience, in under two minutes of reading. ## Workflow 1. **Get the inputs.** Need: the organization's website URL, and ideally a link to recent social posts or a newsletter/email. If only a website is given, work from that alone and note the limitation. 2. **Read the actual copy.** Pull the homepage, an About or Mission page, and any available recent public post or email. Note the literal language used — word choice, sentence length, formality — not a general impression of the brand. 3. **Check consistency.** Does the website tone match the social tone? Does the About page voice match the calls to action? Point to specific, paraphrased examples from at least two sources rather than a vague overall impression. 4. **Check audience fit.** Who does the copy seem to be written for, based on language, jargon level, and assumptions made? Does that match who the organization says it serves (if stated), or who it appears to actually be trying to reach? 5. **Name the single biggest gap.** Not a list — one clear, specific thing that would most improve how the organization comes across, with a one-line reason why it matters most. 6. **Self-check before delivering:** - Every claim traces to copy actually read, not assumptions about what organizations in that sector typically sound like - No quote runs 15+ words; paraphrase instead - No em dashes - Output is short enough to read aloud in under two minutes — this is a conversation opener, not a report ## Output format Deliver inline in chat, no more than a few short paragraphs: - **What's working:** 1-2 sentences, with a specific example - **Where it's inconsistent:** 1-2 sentences, with examples from at least two sources - **Audience fit read:** 1-2 sentences - **The one thing to fix first:** 1-2 sentences, with reasoning ## Notes - This is intentionally lightweight. If the user wants a full multi-section written report, point them to a full marketing audit skill instead of expanding this one. - If available material is too thin (bare-bones site, no social presence) to say anything meaningful, say that rather than inventing an assessment.
