# Privacy Policy — html2markdown _Last updated: 2026-06-24_ html2markdown is a browser extension that converts a user-selected element of the current web page into Markdown and lets the user save it as a `.md` file. ## Data we collect **None.** html2markdown does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data or browsing activity. - All HTML-to-Markdown conversion happens locally, inside your browser. - The extension makes no network requests and contacts no remote servers. - There is no analytics, telemetry, tracking, or advertising of any kind. - The only file produced is the Markdown file you choose to save, which is written directly to your device by your browser's download mechanism. ## Permissions - **activeTab** — lets the extension read the content of the current tab, and only after you click **Select element**. It is never used in the background or on tabs you have not acted on. - **scripting** — lets the extension inject its element-picker/conversion script into the current tab on demand when you click **Select element**. The extension requests no host permissions and no access to your browsing history, bookmarks, or other tabs. ## Changes If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. ## Contact Questions: saqrware@gmail.com
