# Build Agent and Autonomous Engineer chat panel

The Build Agent chat panel is where you interact with the AI agent during development. Use it to submit requests, review responses, and apply generated code.

Use the Build Agent or Autonomous Engineer chat panel to create or update an app or app file. Make a selection to begin the chat, or enter a prompt.If you have a longer prompt, the chat box expands as you extend your input. The chat panel runs in Build Agent mode by default. To use Autonomous Engineer, select **Build Agent** from the selector in the chat panel and choose Autonomous Engineer.

Continue your conversation in the chat panel until you're happy with the results.
