# Elevate your role in ServiceNow Studio

Elevate your role to security\_admin in ServiceNow Studio to configure roles and access control lists \(ACLs\).

## Before you begin

Role required: admin, or another role that can be elevated.

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to **All** > **App Engine** > **ServiceNow Studio**.

2.  From the home page, select your user preferences.

3.  Select **Elevate role**.

4.  Select the **security\_admin** role.

    The security\_admin role grants modification access to high security settings and enables you to modify the access control list \(ACL\). 5.  Select **Update**.
