The theme sets the visual style of the experience and provides a consistent look and feel across all pages. ## Before you begin Role required: ui\_builder\_admin ## Procedure 1. Navigate to **All** > **Now Experience Framework** > **UI Builder**. 2. Open an experience to work in or create an experience by selecting **Create** > **Experience**. See [Configure how users interact with your applications in UI Builder](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/application-development/ui-builder/work-experiences.md) for more information on creating experiences. 3. Select **Experience settings** in the UI Builder header. \[Omitted image "experience-settings-toggle.png"\] Alt text: Arrow pointing to the settings toggle on the experience view page. 4. Scroll to the **Branding and theming** section and note what is listed in **Themes**. By default, the Polaris theme is applied to UI Builder experiences. ## What to do next If you want to customize the theme, there are two options: - **Theme Builder** enables you to create, edit, manage, and apply Next Experience themes using a friendly visual interface. For more information, see [Configuring Next Experience with Theme Builder](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-user-interface/configuring-next-experience-with-theme-builder.md). - If you are an admin user comfortable working in style records and JSON code, you can create a custom theme to override the default Polaris style. This option gives you the most control over typefaces, colors, and images \(including the banner and logo\) in a theme. For more information, see [Configuring Next Experience themes and preferences](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/platform-user-interface/config-next-experience-themes-prefs.md). **Parent Topic:**[Manage the visual style of UI Builder experiences](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/australia/application-development/ui-builder/manage-the-visual-style-of-ui-builder-experiences.md)
